A You Had To Be There Story
So I was just over at my girlfriend's house, and her Mom was asking me if I liked or had any Jimmy Buffett vinyls. I told her I didnt, and I had seen that some go for quite a bit of money on Ebay (her job is she sells stuff on Ebay). I said I would love to get a couple someday because I like to collect as much vintage Buffett stuff that I can find. Well she walks in the other room and comes back with a "LIVE YOU HAD TO BE THERE" VINYL! I was like, you can probably get a good amount of money for that! She says, yes and it is in mint condition (it looks brand new), the jacket and records and everything. Then she says to me, it's a present for you!
Holy crap, I have the best girlfriend's Mom in the world!

Holy crap
I saw Jimmy open for the Eagles in OKC, but my roommate's copy of that album was the first that I listened to a lot of JB's music.
Thank you Dale.

I have every Vinyl Album ever put out by Jimmy Buffett. All are in mint condition, and most were purchased by me when they first came out. My dumb as dirt older brother gave me his entire Vinyl collection when his record player burned out and he went to everything CD. He thought I was stupid for hanging on to all my old Vinyl. So now I have 2 copies of most of Jimmys Vinyl Albums. Wooooo Hooooooo.

What a collection! I have a few vinyl albums of Jimmy's - including ""You Had to be There, but we're not talking mint condition here... afraid I played them frequently, and didn't treat them kindly...On The Edge wrote:I have every Vinyl Album ever put out by Jimmy Buffett. Well done on getting a vinyl copy of YHTBT, Upstate. Not to bust your bubble, but it is available on ebay for as little as 50 cents. It does look great framed though.
If you can find a copy of "Down to Earth" you will have a real treasure worth some $$$$.

Wow - maybe you should ditch the girlfriend and go for the mom
Seriously - that's awesome!
I was blown away when Angel Beech gave me a vinyl copy of A1A last year - one of the few I didn't have. And out of the blue, a friend from another board sent me a 45 copy of Margaritaville a few weeks back...
