Be it food items, toiletries, or household goods... You KNOW you're gonna need it in a few days or weeks?

I am usually very good when I'm by myself, but if my husband or other family are with me, I am very easily swayed if they point something out.

I hate shopping too, SmifferBug. :D

But if I see something that I use ALL the time, and it's on sale, I'll usually buy it if I have room to store it. :)

If it is something that isnt on sale often, then yes. But, things like coffee, toiletries etc that seem to be on sale every other week somewhere...no.

I've got a house full of stuff that I bought because it was a great deal... but I've never used it. Clothes, stuff, food...

Only with food. If Edys (Dreyers) is on sale, I load up on the Rich and Creamy and some sort of cookie dough ice cream. Same with cereal. I am a sucker for sugar cereals.

I used to be a coupon queen. Wouldn't buy anything unless I had a coupon. But that was when I was a stay at home mom. I don't have time to do that anymore. If it's a really good deal, I'll pick it up and if I can't use it, I'll find someone who can. I know someone who has a store that has a great deal on Tide (200 oz for $8.88) and they buy one every time it's on sale I think. They have a surplus of Tide which means I benefit from the surplus which is always nice.... :)

all of my close friends would tell you that my philosophy is--

If it is on sale, you will eventually use it, it will not spoil, it will not go down in price, and you have room to store it, buy it! That is a no-brainer!

And, if there is ever a world shortage of tp, paper towels, bottled water and a few other things, you know where to find a supply!

If it's something I can use, or something I know I'll need, yes.
For example-on Saturday, I went to get a haircut. My barber usually charges me $12.00 to cut my hair. But on Saturday, he had some kind of sale going on and only charged me $7.00. Of course, that was a bargain, so I had him give me another haircut.

My wife thinks I'm crazy, obviously, but it's ME who had the last laugh. I'M the one who saved $10.00!!!

A man will spend $2 for a $1 item that he needs

A woman will spend $1 for a $2 item that she doesnt need

I know kinda sexist, but think about it ...

Not really .... I will change brands if someting is on sale, but will still buy the same amount.

I dont buy generic brands - but middle of the road prices for most things, except a few items - have to be "top of the line". I will upgrade those middle of the road prices to top of the line if the more expensive is comparable in price. (I have no room for storage!)
