BLISS :D

:D :D Yeah, I have to agree with you.

Last year, I was in charge of Kohls first thing. The big special I was there for was pillows, 2 king size pillows for 7.00 (they were very nice), no limit. Apparently the real special there was a portable dvd player. I think I was the only one there for anything else. Kohls opens, everyone takes off in the direction of the appliances/electronics. I run to the pillows and grab 10 of them, all the while on the cel phone with everyone else. Turns out they put the palettes of dvd players over by linens. I am screaming bloody murder trying to squeeze my way through a bunch of angry people looking for more dvd players (they sold out QUICK) with an oversized armful of pillows. I get to the cash register, and the woman thought I was by far the best site she had seen, so she gave me two of the pillows free. :) (carrying 10 king sized pillows with no cart is no easy feat).

But at least I was well padded as I shoved my way through :)

Then I met three people at Jo-ann's and got some killer deals on fabric.

I do it more for the laughs and memories I get. If I was doing it alone, I honestly don't think I would. :)

I hate shopping, and I hate crowds, so no, this day isn't for me.

I know people who celebrate Xmas on New Year's instead, to take advantage of the post xmas sales.

I love to scour the ads the day before and plan my day. I'm usually there before the sun comes up (I was at Jo-Ann Fabrics at 5 am last year with my 3 year old son in tow...he was quite the trooper last year!). I had my son out from before 5 am until at least 1 pm. Not bad for a toddler!

Same here.....don't think it's stupid. I know a lot of people that have made it a 'tradition'.....for me....I'll stay home and eat leftovers!!

Cause a lot of retail stores are in 'the red' in sales up to this point.. the sales they have during the Thanksgiving weekend are supposed to put them in the black.

I would rather my nipples be torn off by a pair of rusty plyers than go to any store on Black Friday.

crap - I said that out loud didn't I??
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Hubby and I have a tradition on Black Friday. My sister watches the kids early in the morning (she's only 5 minutes away) and hubby and I hit Toys R Us and a few other stores for the big sale. It's awesome time alone and being Santa is simply the bestest most wonderfullest thing on the planet. We top it off with breakfast together to discuss all our deals (and to check our list twice). :D :D :D

Actually it should be called "Black & Blue Friday". Have you ever seen grown "adults" fight over Barbies and other toys. That's my main draw, a free wrestling show

They should re-name "Black Friday" to "Day of the IDIOTS," or "Day of the "CHEAPSKATES."

I'll sleep in and go to Wal Mart later in the day where they always have good deals anyway.

I'm not a "list" person...if I see something that I want to give someone for Christmas, I buy it (as long as it's within the budget).

The past few "Black Fridays" have found me flying either away from home or back home, so I ususally miss all the excitement..this year's no different...will be flying home from a cruise and extended vacation in Florida with the 'rents.

I refuse to go anywhere near a mall the day after Thanksgiving. The stores will still be open the week after and if I have to pay a few bucks more, I'm fine with that.

I used to work Black Friday.. it was the WORSt. Now I get up early and shop... from the comfort of my home. Many stores allow you to purchase online with either in store pick-up or free shipping because it lowers the chaos occuring in the store. I get all the deals while still in my PJs then head back to bed! :)
