Re: BON JOVI
If you like their music, it's definately worth it. My fiancee is a big fan, and rates that as one of her favorite concerts, and they certainly put on a good show. They throw in the occasional unexpected cover song (often '50s & '60s party tunes) and do a good job of interacting with the audience. I'd much rather see Bon Jovi than someone like Clapton who I'd rather listen to (I've never seen a more bored entertainer on stage than E.C.).finupbarefootchildren wrote:I was gonna buy some Bon Jovi tickets??? Damn wasn't that a great show----Back when music actually ROCKED, instead of just sucked donky dong.
Re: BON JOVI
There's lots of great music out there these days. And, speaking just for myself, I wouldn't exactly cite Bon Jovi as how great music was back when Slippery When Wet was popular.A Balding Fan wrote:tequilatom wrote:Yes.....very good in concert.......saw him when he had the slippery when wet tour!!finupbarefootchildren wrote:I was gonna buy some Bon Jovi tickets??? Come on Jah---you wouldnt take back all the great music from the mid 80s back over half the crap that is put out today???Jahfin wrote:There's lots of great music out there these days. Come on back in the 80s You had bands selling out stadiums 7 nights in a row in each city.
Re: BON JOVI
I guess that might be something to take into consideration if it was important. It doesn't matter to me how many nights any given artist can sell out a stadium, I'm more interested in the music. In fact, these days a stadium is going to be one of the last places you'd find me, especially when it comes to newer bands. I'm much more likely to be found in smaller venues checking out good groups.A Balding Fan wrote:Jahfin wrote:There's lots of great music out there these days. Damn wasn't that a great show----Back when music actually ROCKED, instead of just sucked donky dong. There's plenty of great bands out these days but if you're going just by what you see on MTV and VH1 and what receives commerial airplay then you're only getting part of the picture. That was true of the 80s as well.A Balding Fan wrote:Come on Jah---you wouldnt take back all the great music from the mid 80s back over half the crap that is put out today???

You don't think back in the 80s The Police were any good, Genesis (both carnations), VAN HALEN (not Van Hagar) were any good.Jahfin wrote:A Balding Fan wrote:Jahfin wrote:There's lots of great music out there these days. Yes I agree with you, most of the better bands are playin smaller Venues-- like the Dropkick Murphys. But still, If I woulda had the time, I would have LOVED to seen Bon Jovi again this past weekend.
Re: BON JOVI
Speaking just for myself, "lite metal" or "hair bands" were a big part of what I didn't like about music in the 80s so I can't say I share the same sentiment but to each their own.A Balding Fan wrote:Jahfin wrote:You don't think back in the 80s The Police were any good, Genesis (both carnations), VAN HALEN (not Van Hagar) were any good.A Balding Fan wrote:Jahfin wrote:There's lots of great music out there these days. I'm not sure why you're you singling out those bands when I didn't mention any of them. I liked plenty of stuff that was commercially successful back in the 80s but not all of it. There was also just as much crap clogging the airwaves back then too, mostly what you saw on MTV.
