So she's not really a related artist, but she is considered adult alternative, and I find her music beautiful and relaxing. She is releasing a new cd on November 22 called Amarantine, for anyone interested.

The "related artist" thing is a misnomer, from what I've been told this area of the discussion board is open to the discussion of any artist.

Speaking of Enya, I first heard of her through her group Clannad which was recommended by Bono at nearly every turn back in U2's Joshua Tree days.

Ah, what a wonderful group that was. Bono guest starred on at least one song (which I can't remember the name of at the moment) of theirs at the time. There might have been more, I'd have to go and look at the cd's to be sure.

Enya and her siblings were in Clannad. Enya left to go solo with her New Age music while her siblings stayed in Clannad. Her father is a musican and a character too. He runs a pub in County Donegal and every now and again one or more of his children will show up to perform there. It's funny but the law says that pubs close at 1:00am and that children must be out by 8:00pm. Well, at Leo's it closes when Leo says to close and kids are welcome to stay and sing along until then.

I own Enya's "A Day Without Rain CD" and it is a relaxing cd. I always tend to play it during Christmas or when it's snowing outside :)

Count me in too. I really enjoy Enya's music. I think I need to listen to her more often, maybe I can relieve some of my stress. :)
