Hey Rednekk, Royal Carribean - no problem, you can carry it on in your carry on luggage. We took our liquor on Royal Carribean several times. One time we had it in a shopping bag filled with soda, Rum and some snacks. Royal Carribean is cool about it. They even sell a soda pass, that let's you buy unlimited soda on ship at a package deal. Saves time and money on room charges. We would get a soda and mix our own drinks in our room. We left the open bottles on the desk in the room, and no one cared. Have fun, the granduer looks like a great ship. We've been on about three of their ships, the Voyager was huge, but one of our favorites. No, when you buy duty free on board they hold it for you until you reach your home port of debarkation. I know Carnival Cruises will confiscate any liquor you bring on and hold it for you until your port of debarkation. I also know from experience that Royal Caribbean and Celebrity (sister companies - virtually the same cruise line) have never stopped or frowned on me bringing my own booze. RC and Celebrity also let you bring any duty free liquor you by off board back to your room with you, they do not hold it like Carnival, The only thing RC and Celebrity will hold is what you buy on ship.creeky wrote:I have not been on a cruise in years - but if they do not allow carry on - and are xraying/scanning checked baggage these days because of terrorism - I do know that whenever I have had foodstuffs etc, in my checked luggage - it always has to be checked thoroughly - the foodstuffs apparently could be mistaken for explosives (was the explanations I was given). Get some shrink bands (http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.as ... stom&ID=36). Next find a bottle that has something roughly the color of what you want to smuggle (like a Listerine bottle) or a bottle you can't see through very well. Fill up the bottle and put the shrink band on it so it looks like it hasn't been open.

That's too funny...we have been cruising for years and have brought a blender on several of them. On one cruise we had a Jamaican cabin steward and for a few bucks and some free rum drinks, he kept us stocked with fresh fruit for the entire cruise. More specificly, the lower pressure outside the bottle causes the trapped higher pressure inside the bottle to push out the liquid. The easy way to avoid this is to use a plastic bottle that is only 3/4 to 4/5 full and then squeeze the bottle to remove the excess air at the top and screw down the lid. Liquid is more or less a non-compressable, air on the other hand compresses quite easily....get rid of the air, get rid of the pressure problem (or at leas give it room to expand into......)SuperTrooper wrote:Just remember to seal the bottles in resealable plastic baggies.
