Name Calling Question

Obviously you have already used offensive language, you have called others names, and you are still here. I on the other hand will more than likely be banned for pointing it out.

All I did was call someone a dick. But I apologized as I did not make a very good impression yesterday.

mother always said if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all....
But seriously it's all in context. When you get to know people you will know how far is cool to go. I'm referring to joking. You can't call people names in anger or as an out and out insult.

I think some people got banned because they ARE ****s, not because they called someone a ****. But that's just speculation on my part.

I, like some others, am not clear why anyone would push this issue so much.

Just as if you are speaking to someone in person, if you're not sure you could/should call them by anything other than their name, then don't.

Also, bear in mind that this is a PUBLIC discussion board.

Use judgement, preferably good judgement.

We used to refer to my former boss (his name was Dick) as Richard Cranium. He got fired for harrasing a female employee.

I didn't change what you said, I merely edited out the useless stuff. Actually, using those criteria, I think leaving 3 whole words was rather generous of me.

On the Edge, Jahfin, (and anyone else to whom this may apply):

You've made your point. Apparently I haven't made mine. If you have issues w/ the administration of this board, communicate them to the adminstrator. I'm not sure how to say it any more clearly. Publicly airing your frustrations at this point is only further proves the "eggplant theory" mentioned earlier this morning. But that's your choice, I guess.
