CIP Grand Opening in Plantation FL

Post by phjim »

From fins1001: Just got home from Jimmys show to open Cheeseburger in Paradise. Pretty standard setlist of about 9 songs.

Pencil Thin Mustache
Volcano
Weather is Here
GrapeFruit JuicyFruit
Changes in Lattitudes
It's 5 O'Clock Somwhere
Cheeseburger
You cant Always Get What You Want
Margaritaville

You can Always Get What you Want wasn't on his printed out setlist for the show, so that was nice. He played it in honor of the Rolling Stones concert in Miami Tonight.

Besdies that, he mentioned that he will be flying to New Orleans tommorow to re-open the Margaritaville New Orleans and off to play the Fillmore on Thursday

Pretty busy week for Bubba. Hopefully he'll be in mid-tour shape phor Vegas. :D

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Tomorrow in NO will be awesome...what a treat to see him re-open this M'ville. I wonder if Radio Margaritaville might broadcast it? It would be a great way to get a larger audience re-interested about a trip to NO. :D

But "tomorrow" would have actually been today... the opening was Monday night. Wonder if we'll see any more info on what happened at the NO Mville?

I rec'd this PM from wannabejane..... and am sharing with her permission..... I am SO jealous!
wannabejane wrote:Oh my God!!! It was beyond wonderful. I got there at 3 pm and was 4th in line! They let us in at 6 after having a wonderful time with the PH's in line. The 1st guy in line went out to his car and ran in to Jimmy in the parking lot!! Shook his hand and said a few words. I thought the guy was gonna pass out he was so excited. Then later during the show the guys wife got to go on stage and sing Cheeseburger with Jimmy!! Those two probably haven't come down yet! I got a seat at the bar directly in front of the mike. When it was obvious that every one was going to stand in front I got off my barstool and got a spot right in front and center less than 2 feet from Jimmys chest! He was wonderful! They gave us drinks and lots of food. It was the most fabulous thing I've ever done -other than having my kids and grandkids- hmmmmm....just kidding! Jimmy signed the lanyard they gave us for the wife of the 3rd person in line at the end of the show. She was so ecstatic. There were 3 of us only that were let stand by the exit and I wanted a picture so I forgo the autograph. The picture didn't turn out that good so now I could kick myself! I recorded about half of the show and got a lot of pictures BUT...they had said no cameras so I was up in his face without mine! Finally decided I wanted pics so I let my spot go and went back to the bar to get my camera from my purse. Lost my spot! At that point the girl sitting next to me at the bar said "just sit up on the bar"! So I and several others did just that! Jimmy looked over at us and smiled! And I got a bunch of pretty good pics. Sadly though I could ahve been right in front and gotten pics of his so cute bare feet!! Anyway, sorry to have rambled on but as you can see I am still so in Heaven! By the way, the gal that told me to sit on the bar was "one of Jimmy's people" and is e-mailing me something she says I will love. This was truly one of the best evenings of my life. You MUST go to the next one. Worth every single cent!
