A Good Day

Two or three reasons why I'm having a good day...

A cat I was feeding in the park last month mysteriously disappeared. It appeared Monday at my back door when I returned from my visit to Fernandina Beach, Fla. Its leg was broken. Last night while I was at a meeting, the vet called and told hubby its pelvis was also broken (from being run over), and it would need extensive surgery to repair. Hubby said, "We're not fixing up a cat that isn't even ours." I went to bed last night knowing I'd have to order it euthanized. This a.m. I talked to the head vet, and he said it has mended crookedly, and doesn't seem to be in pain. He can live as a mildly handicapped cat. Happy DAY! I went to see cat this a.m., and he snuggled against me and purred his heart out.

Also in a story on last night's meeting, I was quoted on the front page of today's paper in a case in which some of us are kind of fighting City Hall: http://www.tiftongazette.com/content/1/ ... siding.htm
I said something a little clever in reply to the vice mayor's comment, and our chairman quoted me in a one-two punch. (I was seated next to the councilman in overalls, so I got cut out of photo. He's a re-enactor at our agricultural museum, in case anyone wonders why he's in overalls. He has a Ph.D., as does the vice mayor. :) )

Then, I kind of got Larry's goat in another thread...

So, it's been a red-letter day for me all around.

Gonna name the cat Crookshanks, because they are!

I just got thru to Pat Croce's organization about a pirate fest I'm planning. They seem so helpful so I'm walking on air.

Conga-rats, OCG! :D

Oh, and speaking of air, the temps here hit 57 degrees, so fall has arrived... It's back up to 80 now, but that's okay. I got to wear a turtleneck for a little while.

I thought the only time girls wore turtle necks was to hide hickeys.
