Every day for the past 2 weeks I leave the office @ 5:30, put the top down for the commute home and listen to a CD I burned of some Jimmy favs... I cannot recall all of them but.... Jamaica Farewell (live from Ocho Rios) is # 17 and Ragtop Day is # 18....the reply button gets his used twice on the 15 minute ride home!

A few come to mind. I'll try to be brief-
"TREAT HER LIKE A LADY"
Every TRUE sailor should seriously listen to this song.
"Great whales travel the Rhumb line, dodging those deadly harpoons
Spawning their young as their ancestors done in the depths of their heddy lagoon.
There are times I find myself with them, and times I feel as they do.
We're on a similar course, it's just a different source,
But I'm in danger of extinction too."
ALL of our days are numbered. These are some of his greatest, mose eye-opening lyrics in one of his greatest, most under-rated songs.
"FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD"
If I had to pick only ONE song as my favorite, this would be it.
It's pretty much been my life story up to a few years ago.
"NO PLANE ON SUNDAY"
My wife and I lived this experience in 1999 when we were returning from Hawaii. The words are so close to what happened to us, it's scary.

This week it has been the last 3 songs on 'One Particular Harbor': 'Cowboy in the Jungle', 'Manana', & 'African Friend'. I am sure it will change next week. After reading this topic I must go home and listen to 'West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown'. I love that song!

"One Particular Harbor" will always be that song that gives me butterflies. There are obviously other classics like "A Pirate looks at Forty," "Havana Daydreamin" and "Son of a Son of a Sailor!"

I'm so embarrassed. I actually knew that. It's just that SOASOAS and OPH are the cds in rotation in my jeep this week. Please forgive me Jimmy, I know not what I do.

I'm with chitownpirate, it's gotta be Havana Daydreamin' ....
Nevermind M'ville, I think it's JB's quintessential song.
Other favs are First Look, Money Back Guarantee, I Wish This Lunch Could Last Forever, and Little Miss Magic (especially when I look at my two daughters and realize how growed up they are!) Of his newer stuff, Trip Around the Sun fer sure.
Hell, if JB sings it, it’s my favorite!

Right now I would have to say Cowboy in the Jungle and "Woner Why We Ever go Home"
"The years grow shorter not longer the more you've been on your own"
"From a Bronco ride to a ten foot tide you just have to learn to roll.... roll with the punches......"
