EXACTLY F those bastards. Though I did hear Comcast might buy Disney who owns ESPN and if that happens Comcast will own ESPN and not allow Dish network to carry it unless they can work something out with an NFL season ticket for Comcast customers. There you go Dish customers no more ESPN for you.nycparrothead wrote:DirectTV are a bunch of NFL monopolizing bastards!!! Cancel them!!! Don't sign up for them!!! I dumped Comcast cable and high speed internet this past Labor Day after years of bad service, rate hikes and a constantly changing set of channels for the Platinum package.
When I first got Comcast High Speed it was good but as more of my neighbors got it the speeds dropped off until it was lagging so much that I had trouble running RM and any other program at the same time. I now have DSL and haven't had that problem. I switched to Direct TV and aside from their contractor doing a pretty poor "professional" installation I've been happy with their service.

Sorry Tom, but you're wrong on this one. When Sunday ticket first came about 99% of the country didn't have digital cable. Without the added bandwith that digital provides you couldn't carry that much programming. Directv knew this would happen and was smart enough to lock up the package for a gazillion years so they could sell it as something that cable doesn't offer. I have no idea when the contract expires but I'm pretty sure when it does it will no longer be a DTV exclusive deal.tequilatom wrote:i never had that problem w/ directv.......directv was smart enough to present the NFL package to the NFL and protected themselves........cable has been out there a lot longer and had there chance!!nycparrothead wrote:AWESOME!!! Last time I looked, ESPN was actually the most expensive channel for a provider to carry. I think they charge over $2 per subscriber.

Could have Cablevision. They held out on YES for an entire season, thus I missed an entire season of the Yankees on tv. Now they are doing the same to OLN and they will probably do the same to the Mets station next season.
Oh yeah, and they own the Knicks and Rangers, who are going nowhere soon.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,

Tonight I just need my guitar

DIRECTV (good guys

DISH NETWORK (the enemy

Yes, both Wayne and I work for DIRECTV.
A year ago I moved to an apartment that screwed up and gave me the wrong apartment, so I had to settle for Comcast basic cable for a year. Nearly $50 for the most boring channels, and it went out a lot.

If so, does he still work for the company? I work for Dish out here in CO and have been with them long enough to pretty much know anyone who's been around with us for any length of time. PM me his name if you don't mind.SMLCHNG wrote:That's cool for him.El mojito wrote:my nephew is one of the people that helped start Dish networksIs he still in Colorado?
