Just wonderin' how many employers grant employees time off (paid) to vote.

Mine doesn't, but my boss is uber cool, so she doesn't mind.

Technically, no I don't get time off. But the firm doesn't really seem to mind if people come in late (not just Election Day, any day) as long as we put in a full day.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Our elections are on a Saturday and the polling booths are open long enough for people to vote. There is pre-poll voting for a couple of months beforehand for those that will be out of the country, or working that day and unable to vote.

Makes sense for it to be on a weekend.

Isn't really more your responsibility to vote, not your employers? Leave the house 20 minutes earlier or vote after work?

Actually if you can't find the time to vote, then maybe you shouldn't in the first place. I'm just saying that if you care enough, you find the time, no matter how inconvienent it may be.

I believe if your work schedule does not give you the time to vote before or after work, they have to allow you the time to get there. :)

And yes, Directv does allow it. :)

I wear a County uniform and am not even allowed near a polling place while representing the county (unless, of course we get called there for a patient- but no personal business). I usually keep up with my schedule and vote absentee if the election happens to fall on a day I work.
I do it for the stories I can tell!!!
