Sail On Wellington Mara

Post by LIPH »

I just heard on the radio that Wellington Mara, co-owner of the NY Giants and son of the original owner of the team, died earlier today. He was 89 years old.

Sail on Duke - a football great (and fellow Fordham U alum).
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

Yes, I got an email earlier from my Fordham Alumni group to pray for him, he was very ill. Then got another one that he had passed away.

May he rest in peace.
