Can anybody tell me about Paradise Island? I heard the conference is giving the attendees (all thousands of them) an all-expensive paid night there...but no clue what it is :-?
I assume you mean Pleasure Island. It is in Downtown Disney.... right near Lake Buena Vista... its is a piece of land shaped like a guitar (which you wont realize unless you are looking from the air!!) filled with nightclubs. They have a "New Year's Eve" every night theme where at midnight confetti blows out all over the place from the buildings and trees..... I think there are at least 6-8 different dance/night clubs all with a different theme. Of course there are stores and eateries as well. There is also a big stage where there is usually entertainment. As I recall its about $20 cover charge to enter the island. Drinks are not include in that price.

I would be surprised if they gave you a complete "open" bar... but maybe drink tickets or something.
yeah, that's it. Drink tickets then, I assume. All I remember hearing is that they take you to places like that and the conference pays for everything. Sounds good though...there better be some hot chicks there

DO NOT go to Pleasure Island. Perhaps the worst place I have ever been too. I was down there last spring, really lame. Hit the bars in downtown Orlando or Universal, please, for the love of God, stay away from Pleasure island.

I agree it's overrated but if you're getting in for free, it's not a bad place to walk around, check out the different themed bars, and people watch. Although some of the people you'll end up watching is parents w/keets as it is a Disney thing (and I don't think that's what you had in mind!). If you go late enough you'll probably miss the families as the keets end up putting the parents to bed rather early when they're visiting Disney--those parents just get too tuckered out from all the parks and partying!

parents and keets are definitely not what I had in mind......but since whatever we do there is completely free.....who am I to argue? I've got 4 other nights there to go where I want
