$30,000 / 8 = $3,750 Per person. It says the net proceeds go to Make-a-Wish. At first glance, it looks like a tax deduction, and for some of us it drops the price to $2,290, and in states with income tax even lower.

BUT......IT IS NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

JIMMY GETS THE TAX DEDUCTION if you read it correctly.

COME ON JIMMY. You can afford to let your fans have the deduction. You are playing the event anyway. The net proceeds from the concert package is much much much less than the MGM (most likely venue) will be paying you.

Just got the Sam's Club holiday catalog in the mail. A LTC promo photo of Jimmy is in the bottom right corner on the front and then all of the package info is on the inside front cover with a giant Jimmy walking barefoot down the Vegas strip at night (LTC poster photo). :o :D :D

Granted I'm not a tax attorney, but isn't JB the one making the donation?
If you want to make a $30k donation for nothing in return, then the deduction is rightfully yours...

Yep, I opened the catalog and almost dropped my teeth (and they're REAL) !!!!! Asked the hubby for that for my birthday in about a month, he said only if we win the lottery this weekend.

And the others cost much more than Jimmy's and are for only 4 people making them more than double the price.

If anyone is serious about getting this package and splitting it, please pm me. I'd be interested in taking 2 of the 8 openings. I think you have to be a Sam's Club member to purchase, which I am not.

I looked at the other packages, too. Not only is Jimmy's relatively reasonable, it's also the only one with proceeds going to charity.

If you win the lotto, I think you could afford a private show at the location of your choice.

Jimmy is pictured on page 10 of the current Dec 06 / Jan 07 issue of Sam's Club SOURCE for Home and Business. He is in the middle of 8 other people, wearing light colored cargo pants, flip flops, and an orange shirt under an open CUBA jacket of some sort. The caption reads "Business Member Linda Baker and her family meet Jimmy Buffett on their "Once-in-a-Lifetime" trip to Las Vegas, purchased from the 2005 Sam's Club Holiday Catalog!"

(This follow-up thread was posted last year, mentioning a Michigan woman bought the package last year:
