We did the Trails of Margaritaville tour in July. Does anyone know if Jimmy's recording studio down by the water survived Wilma? From what I have seen, it does not sound promising--so sad. Give a big cyber hug to all of our friends in Key West. Hopefully visitors will return soon to help boost tourism in the city that we all love. :)

Schooner Wharf is up on the webcams, and looks ok. Given that it is a bit lower than Shrimpboat Sound, and neither of the doors face directly into the direction of the surge, they might have been ok.

I'm sure the building survived just fine (a very sturdy structure); I'd be most concerned about damage to all of the electrical equipment...but Shrimpboat is about 3 feet off the ground.... :-? :)

During the Portland show he mentioned they would be in the studio early next year, I think it survived the weather.

So glad to hear the good news about the recording studio. Hopefully, the rest of the town will be up and running soon and be ready to accept visitors in search of a good time!

A 1 1/2 - 2 hour walking tour of key "Jimmy" haunts and landmarks in Key West. Fun tour and worth it at $20.
