But what about mom?

Post by Capttony »

Ok.....so there are a few songs where jimmy makes reference to his father, but i really don't know of a song for his mother ...So it got me to thinking, i must be overlooking something. Anyone know of any or a reason why there isn't any?
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

Altho I can't think of any songs related to his mom, he does mention on the Millenium Show, that she's not awake at this particular time and he says something nasty   and goes on to state that one of her friends might just say( something to the affect of) did you hear what Jimmy said last nite?

Yeah, not just in songs either. In books, interviews, etc., I've noticed that he's always talked more about the Buffett side of the family (paternal line) as opposed to his mom's family. When Peets passed away there was a neat essay she'd written about meeting the Captain and then I know on the elevator wall in the NO M'ville there's the .... (I can't remember exactly) 5 life lessons according to Peets Buffett, e.g. "Read and read often, including the classics," etc. Pretty cool stuff. A very wise woman. :D

Peet's Philosophy of Life

Read often, including the classics.

Accept everyone for who they are, not for what they do.

Be well traveled.

Learn to be a listener.

Live by the sea.

Listen to your spirit and find joy.

Education, like money, doesn’t make you happy or successful, but it sure helps.

Love and family are the best things.
