Sirus Radio

Post by udog2us »

We it has now been a number of months since the Radio Margaritaville changed to the Sirus formatt. At the time of change, we were told that it would be just a matter of time till the music we all loved would be back. We had many defending JB and Sirus.

We'll I feel betrayed! I think the music that is being played is jsut as bad as it was back in the Spring! I just heard the Proclaimers and the song
"I Would Walk 500 Miles".

I can't be the only one that feels this way? Mr. Buffett needs to know that there is not all happiness on the Island!

I don't have Sirius radio and can't listen to RM at work, so can't really comment on any format changes. But have you registered your dismay directly with Radio Margaritaville? An email to RM is probably a better vehicle to get your comments heard than a thread here....

I sent Carson Cooper an email just before I posted on Buffett News. I guess the thing is that we need to let RM know if you are unhappy!

Thank you!

I'm sure honest feedback is important to them, so I think RM/Sirius listeners should tell them what they think; 'cheers' for what they like and 'jeers' for what they don't.

I gotta say, I was much more of a fan of the old RM. I honestly don't listen to RM now except for concerts and the buffet.

RM on Sirius

Post by Delaneysdad »

It's not the same RM of old... I have the feeling that it will never be the same, is this Good? or Bad? in my opinion it's Bad. if I hear 10,000 maniacs again I'm gonna puke. And how many times am I going to hear "Tiki Bar Live" today? The Buffett Break in the AM and Buffett Buffet in the afternoon keep me going, the Live concerts, and concert replays are the best thing on now, but the Variety of music is not there, the repetition of songs is what drove me from commercial radio, I wonder why the shows like "Vintage Vinyl" , "Downsouth Radio hour" and "Island time" have not made it to the new format?

I for one liked Steve, and Carson's commentarys , little bits of insight on musicians and music of many styles. not just Jimmys. I think I'll copy this post to RM, but I'm not going to hold my breath that any great changes will be made in the near future.

I do Like Savvy J's show. Her tase in music is pretty diverse to say the least.

Oh well, it's better than Howard's Fart channel.

On the plus side, though, RM is still giving us concerts for free over the internet. There were those who were sure that would go away after a while, and, happily, they were incorrect.

I have to say, I wasn't a huge RM fan pre-Sirius. I would listen to the Buffett Buffet and the concert replays. I have to say I like RM more now than I did before. I listen to it all day at work and sometimes at home too. I don't hear the repitition but maybe I'm not paying that much attention. I have cheers for RM! :)

All I will say is thanks to sirius and RM,I get more Buffett than on any radio station around, I get to hear a good bit of Sunny Jim, Sonny Landreth, Jerry Jeff Walker and similar artist. Is it perfect,no but it is much better than not having it. 8)

We've got Sirius. The sound thru Sirius online is better than Margaritaville IMHO. However after about 1 1/2 hours you get this little "are you there?" pop-up which is most annoying. I've often wondered if I just ignored it would I disconnect - something tells me yes.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

I would like RM to be more loyal to the Buffett fan by playing more JB music. I don't mind some of the other music, but let's set some sort of limit or time schedule. I also would like to hear some of the interviews that have been done over the years. I think it would be interesting to hear what other artists have to say or tell about JB as well. If they don't change a thing, I will never be disappointed in being able to hear concerts, especially because they are played for free. This is still the best place to get you JB fix.
