I'm listening to Convoy by C.W. McCall and need help with some of the language

Suicide Jockey?
10-9?
Swindle sheets?
Chciken Coops?
Frieds of Jesus?

I used to drive a truck actually and have had a CB in my car for alot of years....

Too be honest, I'm not sure what the others are. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I thought I spoke Trucker as my second language but maybe I need to brush up on my dialect!

It may just mean "HazMat" Who knows. Everything is slang with truckers.

Suicide jockey is someone hauling dangerous materials.

Swindle sheets refers to the log books that truckers must keep detailing their hours and manifest (I think).

Friends of Jesus - just what it says. CW was referring to a van full of long-haired religious dudes.

'sodbuster' was the name given to the early farmers of the midwestern prairie. They had to use plows to break up the prairie grass (sod) before they could plant crops (usually wheat) hence the name "sodbuster"

In the song the driver was probably from somewhere around Kansas, hence the "sodbuster" handle

lots of road trips back in the 70s, took some cross country trips with friends who had CB radios. (my handle was IndyAce)
