Sounds like your computer is trash-town. I've got an HP laptop and a Vaio and neither get as hot.

before I go.... I keep thinking that I should have my claim to fame by inventing something to keep the warm/hot off of my lap as I continue in my cyber addiction. During the summer it can be the pits.. but winter.. oooohhhhh, la la!! nothing better than me and my mac alone in bed together.

I am in NYC and here I sit on the floor (my room does come with a bed, furniture, everything... really........ but the internet cord is short and I be darned if I actually sit at the intended desk like some kind of YUPPIE or somethin'!!)

Meet me in NYC

Yep, laptop fans are not really designed to move a huge amount of air, at least not the factory-standard installation fans

Mac now has a two button mouse, but you don't need it. It is for those afraid of losing their second button. If you know how to use a single button mouse you will discover it does everything the two button mouse does. You simply don't need to know the difference between your right and left with a Mac.

yeah I know "why don't you try reading the entire post before replying..."

But hey, at Mac World about 3 years ago, Bill Gates unveiled the Microsoft Office Suite for Mac and is quoted as saying "This Suite is a Superior product than on any other operating system..."

I've used Windows based PCs for as long as I can remember, however, there was one exception, the school I went to for grades 5 and 6 used Macs. Thats one thing I could never get used to!

Keep your PC's... I'm tired of trying to convince others to switch,
while I watch them dump loads of money into trying to save their crashed WinD'ohhhhs!! systems.

I have a PC at home and work for work related reasons. Primarily that the software that I use for work isn't available for use with Apple computers. My daughter has a MAC and really likes it except that she can't get all the same games as her friends.

As for the threat from a virus, it is correct that very few people write them for Macs and Linux machines however that goes back to the issue of software availability which is why many people have PCs rather then a Mac.

BTW, I never got a virus on my Commodore 64 or my Tandy 16 color computer! :o :D

No software issues with Mac, that excuse should be on snopes.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages but I prefer a Mac, hands down.

That's pretty funny!

I tried a Mac last year. I like the screen, size, speed, and battery life. However, there is no Outlook. You can easily convert Outlook Express, but not Outlook.

Apple's suggestion to solve this problem is to buy a server or e-mail the info to yourself. I've got 5 years worth of e-mails and over 1800 contacts. :-?

A Mac would be nice if I was going to a new job. Until that happens, Outlook has me locked in.

Oh yeah, and I need more games than "Chess".
