So, you're saying the water has had no effect on you. Hmmmm.nycparrothead wrote:Exactly.. our town has one of the highest rated water sources, coming from Hetch Hetchy, and taste great. Very few additives, only what the state requires. I can't believe that some people spend so much on bottled water. If your water taste like it came from a pool or a toilette I can understand it, but here in California I swear the bottle of water is to the adult, like a pacifier is to a baby.

y'all ever tasted the water in Florida? Bleek.... so I use a brita or buy bottled for drinking. Fridge has a filter too! Of course the water in OH must stink because Mr. Topless drinks it from the tap...and likes it!
And why is it that water in a restaurant tastes better?

Filtered tap, chilled in the fridge.
Bottled water, as it's sold today, is proving to be one the great marketing ploys of all time.
If you're gonna buy it, at least make sure it says it's "spring water", otherwise
they TOO are just filling their pretty bottles from the SAME tap as I am.

I know I'm a minority here, but I like the water from the fountains at Disney World. I know it tastes different, but for some reason I like it.ToplessRideFL wrote:y'all ever tasted the water in Florida? Bleek.... so I use a brita or buy bottled for drinking. Fridge has a filter too! That is quite possible. My mom used to say that dirt is even cleaner in Disney World because it's Disney Dirt. There's definitely something in the water. Maybe it's ash from the nightly fireworks.Lightning Bolt wrote:that's cuz it's touched with fairy dust from the Magic Kingdom!mings wrote:I know I'm a minority here, but I like the water from the fountains at Disney World. To think I thought this was about bottled beer vs beer on tap.
If you buy "Spring water" read what/where the originating source actually is. ( If they use morre than one source it is usually in tiny print.)
I think it was Zephyr Hills, that got nailed and had to change the wording on their label. Maybe someone else. Some actually use a variety of sources, but claim one source.
I have an Artesian well with a slight sulphur content. Nowhere near as bad a some have. I have no problem with the well water, though some do.
I keep bottled water on hand though.
I forget who the comedians were but they showed them taking empty bottles outside and filling them from a garden hose and serving them to people in a restaurant. The people never complained and could not tell the difference.
I think a lot of it marketing, advertising, and packaging. I don't think hardly anyone / that anyone could tell the difference in a blind taste test with several glasses in front of them
