Wiggles - Has Anyone Heard of Them?

Post by kurt »

For some reason I was mesmerized by a program called ‘The Wiggles’. I have no children but for some reason they just –baffled- me… (there is no true word that describes my curiosity). They are truly bizarre and they freak me out. Hopefully I will not see them in a nightmare. At least they are not the Tellatubbies/ they freaked me out too. :o

For those who do have kids, are they popular?

My keet used to be really into them (when we had cable and he could watch them). We even had a "big red car" that he could ride around in. I bet your fave character was captain feathersword right? :) :) They were a pop band in Australia that really didn't do very well, fromwhat I understand. They started doing a kids show, Disney caught wind of it and well the rest is history. They are kind of fun to watch. My fave song is "fruit salad, yummy yummy".

The Wiggles are wildly popular toddler-preschool entertainment. They became popular in the US just as my daughter was growing out of that type of thing, but I'm sure my son will think they are groovy. We don't have cable so there's not really an opportunity to see them much (I think they are on Nickelodeon).

I guess in the grand scheme of things, they are a lot better than some of the kids entertainment out there. It's kinda one of those things you have to have kids to understand...or else it is kinda freaky.

Teletubbies don't really bug me. 'Tubbies got started the year my daughter was born.

I think the Wiggles are on Disney because Disney owns them now....

Yep. You're right. My mistake. I don't have cable so I don't really keep up with the Jones' on stuff like this. My poor kids only get PBS.
