So today as I am driving to work and this guy almost hits me while I am making a left turn and he just rolls through a stop sign. Jerk didn't even see me. He's wandering from lane to lane and I catch up to him about two stop signs later (to say hello) and he's typing away on his Treo (PDA/Cell Phone). Didn't even look up (to see me wave "hello").
I've seen women putting on make up, men shaving, people eating (these are the same people who can't walk and chew gum). One of the worst I've seen was when I was behind a guy in the fast lane who was wandering back and forth between the lane dividers. Then I see him turn the page of the newspaper he's reading!!
Here is one of the scariest products I've ever seen:
and I can't wait for the headset law to reach California (I just hope these people also use voice dialing)
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

On the highway, between DeWitt and Davenport Iowa at 6:45 AM and a car about a half a mile in front of me is weaving all over the road. I'm thinking drunk on the way home after an all nighter.
The car slows and I decide to pass. As I get on the side, I look over to see a 450 lb woman with a box of krispy Kremes on her lap, popping them like they are Tic-Tac's (I think she lost a finger while eating, yet never missed a beat)
"Boat drinks, waitress we........nevermind"
He ain't wrong he's just different
but his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
I remember this one guy driving down I-684 doing about 80 MPH in the left lane, shaving in the rear view mirror, when he wasn't reading the folded NY Time resting on his steering wheel that is! ]And this was before the days of ubiquitous cell phone proliferation ... I bet now he's holding a conversation too!

That is pretty frightening. I love watching people try to eat a bowl of cereal or read a book and drive at the same time.

Tinley Park - 8/5
INDY for MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! - 8/8
What heaven brought you & me, cannot be forgotten....
I do put on mascara while I'm driving, but I don't look in the mirror. I AM afraid of poking my eye out sometimes, but I watch the road--usually going 75 mph-- and just do it from "memory."

Worse than Massachusetts?
I am surprised...
Think of the geriatric population of Florida...
Yeah ... that would do it.
Just curious... how are your rates set there, do you know?
Our rates are very high because the legislature has determined that it is not "fair" to charge bad drivers what they really should pay, so good drivers pay much more than they would in other states to make up the difference (a typical liberal "solution" )

Florida has so many transplants from all over the country, that if each person drives the way they learned in their home state, it chaos. Add in the ga-jillions of tourists and a few foreigners, and you have a a slew of a$$hats & richards who stop & reverse in the LEFT LANE of I-4 because they missed the exit 4 lanes to the right. (I've witnessed that TWICE.)
