When you listen to Bubba's music.........

Post by verphin »

........can you simply sit and listen to it, or are you uncontrollably driven to sing along. I was just curious, as I am one of those who just has to jump in and sing (not that my singing is a good thing :o ), no matter what song. Have a great day! :D

I can't listen to it without singing, either....it's the same situation with Pavlov's dog. Bubba is the bell, but I sing instead of drool...most of the time!

You should see me when I'm driving...I'm trying to dance in my seat. My head is bopping, my hands are flailing, i'm swaying back and forth. People must think I'm insane...until I pass them and they see "PRTHD" on my back window and the margartiville frame on my license plate. Then I hope they understand! :)

  Me too! Unfortunately I don't think too many people around here "get" it.......so I'm left just looking insane.... They must think it's really strange to drive by someone who's got one hand doing the Fins salute leaning to the left, to the right, left, right, left, right....and the keet in the back seat doing the same thing.... :D

Working at CIP, I hear Jimmy's music all day long....and I always sing along.

One of the other managers was talking to the JVP a couple weeks ago, his comment was, "He really DOES know all the songs, doesn't he?"

How good of a variety of JB music do they play at CIP??? Do you get like most of the Yellow Album/MMIM songs or a lot of others not commonly heard???

I sing all the words I know, which is usually about 1/4 of em. A lot of the songs make me dance.

I admire folks who remember lyrics. I remember the stories the lyrics tell. "Give me some words I can dance to and a melody that rhymes."

If the song is on, I know the majority of the lyrics. But I can't pull lyrics out of my memory. BHA can do that. If there's a song on RM that I've never heard (which still happens almost everyday), I call him up or email him, give him just a couple of words or a line and almost instantaneously (sp?) he can tell me not only what song it's from but what album it's on too! :)

I'm one of those who knows words to a LOT of JB's songs - I'll sing right along and they'll just look at me and ask where I heard that one!

I can't just sing along. I have to dance even if it's just dancing in my chair at work. How can you not when you listen to this music and think of the memories you have from the shows and gatherings you've been to while this music was playing? :)

I don't dance much because most of the time I'm listening is in the car or at work, but I definitely sing along. I especially like to drive by other parrotheads and signify(put my hand atop my head like a phin). Sometimes I catch them so off guard they have no clue what I'm getting at or why this crazy guy in the car next to them is putting his hand on his head, sometimes I'm lucky enough to get the phins right back at me. I can't think of too many people that I have introduced JB's music to that haven't become phans. Maybe not to the extent that some of us have gone(tattoo, traveling the ends of the earth for a concert or decorating our car), but phans nonetheless.

Don't phear the parrot!

You should see people's faces when BHA pulls up next to people and "fins". It usually takes them a second or two to figure out and they look at him like he's crazy. Well, if he's not crazy, he'd go insane, right? :)

Isn't knowing the lyrics to JB music a prerequisite to working there? :) :)

I'd like to see it be a prerequisite for getting concert tickets, at least the good seats.

Maybe just the good seats.

Jimmy would like to continue spending our money foolishly. Boats & planes are expensive. :)
