I could never I don't fathom, leave California....I would move within it but not out of it. As screwed up as it is, its home

I too cannot imagine ever leaving my current home of Chicago... but if forced to leave, the place I've loved the most is the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland.

I love New England..... But Hawaii calls to me......

In the perfect world, I'd spend summer on New England coast and winter in Hawaii..... time in between in the mountains.... in fact, I'd drive cross country twice a year.....

Nevada, in the relative vicinity of Vegas. When my dad retires, most of the family is relocating down there.

From the first time we went there, it just felt like someplace I could call home.

Yes! But I'm not telling anybody about it cause I don't want everyone to show up on my doorstep when I retire there.

It's a tiny town at the base of a substantial mountain range and currently has about 28 people who winter over. It's all dirt roads in "town". There isn't even a stop sign. It's so nice and quiet; deer & elk roam free. And every day you get to look up at one of the most beautiful mountain ranges. You can even see the stars at night!! Plenty of fishing & hunting, and the people there are some of the nicest, most considerate people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

And yet it's only 100 miles from one of the largest cities in that state.

I would love to split my time, someplace north inthe summer and south in the winter. I've never been to an island so I'm not sure if I'd like it or not. But it's worth a shot!

I can honestly say I am living in my paradise . .

and trust me, . .wherever your paradise is. . .

you will have that moment when you put your hand to your heart and say . . ." I have found me a home " . .

sigh . . .
. . " and I finally disappear . . . . BUT NOT YET ! ! "

That sounds like quite a few places in Utah!!
I'd love to move to Southern Utah some day.....Moab.
Arches Nat'l Park is one of the most incredible places on earth.....
I love it down there....the Native American history and influence.....rafting and fishing on the Green River....it's a spectacular place...

Pretty much everywhere that's not here. I love Philly and think the location is great, but I'm always thinking about where else I may be. Here's my list:
-Jackson Hole, Wyoming
-Key West
-Melbourne, Australia (or a town along the Great Ocean Road)
-Paris (France, not Texas)
-Capri, Italy
-Whistler, British Columbia (Canada, eh?)
-...

Side note: Whenever I watch any of Warren Miller's ski movies I wonder and ask myself "What am I doing here, when I can be there, doing that?" I guess I have a love-hate relationship with Warren Miller and his movies.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

Middle of Frickin Nowhere. Where you closest neighbor is about at least 5 miles away from you.

Nobody to bother you, feel free to crank whatever music you want as loud as you can.

No need to put up 15 foot privacy fences, so when your daughter turns into a teenager, you do not have to worry about any of the neighbors tryin to get a peek of her in her bikini.
