Your “Buffettisms”…

What is your favorite Buffett song?
Tie: One Particular Harbor & Far Side of the World

What is your favorite Buffett album?
I really like Far Side of the World, however the older stuff is great too

When was your 1st Buffett concert?
Jeez, I think 1996 or 97 – Camden, NJ?

What is your most memorable Buffett experience?
Introducing my 2 brothers (and the rest of the fam) to JB has to be up there. We got tickets last minute and went to Camden and … well, they’re both avid Parrotheads now.

What is the farthest you have traveled to get to a Buffett concert?
Camden - & I live in Philly, so I guess that’s not that far, especially considering I go much further just to go to work everyday

How many Buffett concerts have you seen?
10? I lost count, but kept every stub.

What is your favorite Buffett memento?
I have a sweet Hawaiian shirt that used to be my costume when I worked for the Mouse. I wear it at every JB show, and every year people always offer to buy it. It’s not JB, but at this point, might as well be. I guess you can count the ticket stubs here too.

What Buffett shows did you go to this year (2005)?
CBP 8-25, Section 419

What Buffett shows would you like to go to in 2006?
I’d be game for traveling, but where remains to be seen. Hmmmm.

Who is your favorite Coral Reefer?
Mac is cool

How did you become a parrothead?
A buddy of mine had extra tickets and I wasn’t doing anything so I went. I knew little about his music, but left convinced that I had stumbled upon something awesome.

Do you belong to any parrothead clubs? If yes, which ones?
Nope. To quote an incredibly overused quote: “Any club that has me as a member is one I wish not to join” … or however it goes. Actually, I’d be all up for joining. Someday I will.

Everything and anything BN…

What brought you to BN?
Google search for concert info regarding CBP 8/25

What does your BN name mean?
It’s a nickname, a play on my last name.

Have you met any BNrs in person? If so, who?
None right now.

Do you have a favorite BN anecdote? If so, please share?
What is an anecdote??? Dictionary please….

Getting to know the real you…

What is your real name (first name only)?
Tim

Where do you work?
Draft – an advertising agency in New York

What do you do?
I manage the jobs & teams involved, and make sure that each ad is on schedule, within budget, and really really rad.

Where do you live?
Ha! Some of you may know that I currently SLEEP in Philly. This craziness is almost over, I hope. I'm looking for apartments in NYC. Speaking of which, anybody know about any vacant 2 BR's in NYC, preferably Manhattan?? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

What is your marital status?
Single

What is your keet status?
I’m a kid at heart, but that’s about it.

Do you have any pets? What kinds? What are their names?
No

What do you drive?
I have 8 cars – it’s called the E train of the wonderful Metropolitan Transit Authority of NYC, although sometimes, I let other people ride in my cars. I also drive a ’91 GMC Jimmy truck to the train station & to the boathouse. There is another car that's become my "pet project" that I'm trying to fix up (if I ever get the time).

Do you support any charities? If so, which ones?
Not regularly. It’s more of a “what’s going on at that time” type of thing.

What are your pet peeves?
Disrespect in all shapes and forms.

Other than JB, what are the last 3 (or however many you think is good)
concerts you attended and when?
James Taylor – always a goodie (seen him 5 times)
The Dead – same. (Seen them about 4 or 5 times)
Aerosmith & Kiss concert – (Aerosmith was awesome, Kiss was crap.)
Cake - awesome show
U2 (back in 2001) – sweet show
(damn – I’m having a total brain fart right now.)

What are your hobbies (other than Jimmy Buffett and BuffettNews)?
I’m quite good at drinking, but really, I just enjoy hanging out with friends. I play disc (Frisbee) golf, coach rowing, rowing itself, and I love to ski (downhill).

Do you have a dream vehicle? If so, what?
A beautiful yacht which I can use to escape the everyday life and explore the world. I even have a name for it, though it’s probably been a bit overused.

Do you drink a regular caffeinated morning pick-me-up? If yes, what?
Not regularly, and believe it or not, but I enjoy coffee more at night or after dinner. I know. I’m weird.

Do you read the newspaper regularly?
The free Metro that I get at the subway entrance at 53rd & 3rd in NYC, and any Wall Street Journals that I find left on Amtrak. I get the New York Post for the Su Doku, and Weird News, and I read that HS sports section of the Philadelphia Inquirer (the rest of that paper iI don't like).

Do you subscribe to any magazines? If yes, what?
Rowing News, ESPN

That old costume shirt that I wear to JB every year is cool (but it only comes out then). Shorts. Sandals. I suppose you could also count the blazer & tie I had to wear this summer at the Royal Henley Regatta – but that’s because so few people (coaches & rowers) have earned the right to wear it.

On a VERY personal level…

Have you ever been arrested? If so, for what?
Nope. Oh, but what they don’t know…

Do you have any piercings or tattoos? If so, what and where?
Nope. Not my style

What is the most breathtaking sight you’ve seen?
seeing every star possible, including the Southern Cross, as my brother & I were driving back from the seeing the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road, near Port Campbell, Australia

What, to you, is priceless?
Memories, Love, random pictures. Excuse me - going to beat myself up again.

What is your most prized possession?
I’m not someone who cares much for material things. I really have to think about this one.

Who is the one person (not Jimmy Buffett) who has most influenced you
and how?
Other than the staple answer of my parents and my siblings? I don't really know. Even my little brother has taught me things that I try to embrace. My parents believe in learning by experiencing and to never pass up an opportunity, and I've since lived my life by those lessons. My youngest brother has taught me some things which still baffle me that such profound observations and lessons could come from such a young kid. My other brother and sister have each taught me how determination and light-heartedness can acheive the loftiest of goals. I've written too much. Next.

Who are your heroes (not Jimmy Buffett) and why?
My great uncle. He was a Jesuit priest & missionary, who knew several languages fluently, and gave most of his life to live in India and work with the people there. He passed away in ’95 and I got to know him during his occasional trips back home. What an amazing person.

What are you most proud about yourself?
The fact that, to date, I’ve done what I loved. I’ve coached (and still do) and I’m in the industry that I find to be a blast. I guess you could say, that I’ve chosen to surround myself with great friends, too.

Given the right opportunity in life, you would/will_________?
Succeed in my goal of running/owning a successful ad agency, then allowing me to retire and coach and travel while I still have time and energy to enjoy it.

What are you scared of?
Missing an opportunity, failure and not realizing my potential

If you could push the “rewind” button on anything in your life, what would
it be?
Not moving to New York City sooner, which has had some consequences that I might want to have changed

What part of your body do you love?
I don't know.

What part of the opposite sex’s body do you love?
Ok, so foregoing the obvious responses (which all apply!) a girl with beautiful eyes drives me crazy, and a nice smile.

New addition: The small of a woman's back. Wow.

What are your strengths?
Finding fun in the simplest things, determination/perseverance, disarming personality, ….hmmm….

What are your weaknesses?
Procrastination, too much trust in others...

What was the best day of your life?
ummm. I really don’t know. I’m a pretty good natured and happy guy, so a lot of days are awesome. Read the next question and you’ll see why most of my responses here don’t count anymore.

What was the worst day of your life?
Tie (sort of):
9/1/05 – I broke up with my girlfriend of 6 years.
9/11/01 – For a while there I thought that my father had died in when the towers fell. Fortunately, he didn’t, but until that phone call from a coworker of his – yup that was tough.

What smells do you love?
Fresh Rain, mom’s cookies,

What smell do you not care for
Garbage (who doesn’t though), Goldschlager (my 21st birthday alcohol)

Can you describe your ideal woman?
She'll be someone who loves to laugh, smile, have fun. She'll find humor in the simplest of things - ie: something silly like America's Funniest Home Videos & people falling down. She'll share the same love for travel that I have. She won't need makeup to "be"beautiful - she'll be absolutely gorgeous with it or without it. Needless to say, she'll be a very pretty woman - I don't want a supermodel, I just want someone who's naturally beautiful. She won't be into material things, and run out to buy the latest thing. (If she comes home with Uggs, I leave.) She'll ski, like car trips, like JB, and other chill musicians, like to give presents on Christmas rather than receive them. I could go on for hours.

Do you want to get married?
Yes. Most definitely.

Have kids?
Yup Yup Yup. I'd be lost without little Tim's running around. I love kids.

How many?
I figure 3 or 4, but I'm always willing to reconsider. I'm not going to be like that family in South Carolina/Georgia, where they had 18(?). Way to many.
