You don't hear a thing from Jerry Falwell anymore do you.....?
Falwell was bright enough to step back into the shadows and let his minions stand out. Robertson should have realized his credibility on all things non-secular was shot to spit when it was revealed he'd been nailing Mrs. Robertson like cheap plywood prior to their taking their vows and their son was one of those miraculous 9 lb. "preemies"..
Unfortunately, he makes good copy for being such a fool, so he keeps getting attention.

That's just great that he continues to think he can speak on behalf of
God ...

`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

I didn't spend much time watching him either, but I remember him from back in the day... He used to wear a white suit (kinda like the guy on Fantasy Island) and appear with a backdrop of stars, proclaiming himself as "God's man of the hour".
He had a sense of the dramatic.

I wasn't going to mention that... but, there is a documentary on the filming of the movie and some of the odd things that went on during that shoot.
