Yes, it's that time of year for The Wizard of Oz to be on TV. I personally own it and still love watching it.

One of the gals in the office is still scared, at age 48, of the flying monkeys!

I don't think I will ever outgrow it :D

My favorite was the Cowardly Lion - which one was yours?

I loved the lion also..because he was a...cat..

I've seen several Toto's over the years..you gotta love a dog that's that ugly...

and in several situations, over the years, I've thought of that line..."We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto" ( not that I'd want to be in Kansas, either)

I have been to the Land of Oz It was on Beech Mountain. It has closed but is now some sort of housing development and they have cabins that can be leased/rented out. I think someone has some sort idea for a possible museum of artifacts from the park.

I have to say that hmmmmm out of the various ones, it was a toss up between one of the Dorothy's and one of the Wicked Witch's.( The Wicked Witch HAD to be REALLY good looking if she was that cute with the green goo on her face.)

One night in college we got really......um......uh......happy watching it and then went to the bars. Every girl we passed we asked "Are you a good witch or a bad witch"

Slapped a couple of times, but I believe I made it to the enchanted (Emerald didn't sound right) city that night

Wow. I couldn't BEGIN to pick a favorite! :o The monkies have always creeped me out!!

For Wizard of Oz fans, A WONDERFUL BOOK YOU MUST READ:
"Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West"!!!!!

It's a "biography" of the character of the Wicked Witch, and has a whole structure set up for the "lands" of Oz-politics, and EVERYTHING!!

(It's also a Broadway musical, getting awesome reviews!)

A few years ago I saw a musical version of The Wizard Of Oz on one of the cable channels. I forget which channel and I don't think they ever reran it but Dorothy was played by Jewel and she was looking pretty damn hot. BTW, Jewel is another one of those people who looks better in person.
