Last night was the first concert ever at Petco Park and the Stones were AMAZING! A sixty something Mick Jagger covered the spacious outfield better than Dave Roberts. A six story high stage with some amazing fireworks effects. If you get the chance to see the "A Bigger Band" tour...DO IT!

Sounds like Mick and The Boys still "got it"! Hubby saw them last month-even with the show interrupted for a bomb threat, he said it was the best concert he'd EVER been to!

I saw them bout 6 years ago. It was a good show, But I can not justify spending 425 dollars for a ticket for a show that lasts less then 2 hours.

Not sure I'd pay that much either (I decided on a strictly "don't ask if I don't want to know" tactic on the subject of what my husband paid for his ticket!)
From all I've heard though, the Stones are definitely playing their "A" Game on this year's tour, in comparison to some others.

That's the premium price for the close seats (where you stand for the whole show ). For $160, I had great seats just off the field/floor level,
and that was clearly worth the price, because last night's show was just incredible!
It may sound odd to say that a 62 year-old Mick Jagger does make our beloved Jimmy look kind of older (it's really apples and oranges... or mangos!)
but their show is just as vibrant and exciting as it did when I first saw them in 1978!
I love Jimmy Buffett shows, but for sheer excitement in a concert experience, NOTHING tops The Rolling Stones!

Yeah, but if I go to a concert, I need to be in the best seats. Sat way too many times in lawn and rafters with the no gooders, I better myself when it comes to concerts, only because you never know when its gonna be thier last show.

I just love the lights that you and your fellow Stones use for your shows. Is there any way you can let Jimmy Buffett borrow them for his next tour?

We are going to see them tonight, and are looking fwd to a great show. After 25 years of trying I am finally going to see Mick and the Mickettes!

BTW the tix were $465 for 4 including service charges. Thats $116 each for seats in the front row of the third deck in the section closest to the stage which should actually be some of the better seats in the house tonight.

I saw them when they played Duke a few weeks back and it will easily be one of my top shows of 2005 despite the ticket price ($60 + service charges). The downside was the shuttle bus confusion amongst the Durham police and campus officials but that still doesn't detract from what a great concert the Stones put on.

Not a big Stones fan but cannot ignore their contribution to the industry! Saw them in the early 90s...... outside in Tampa Stadium (the old one) for the Steel Wheels tour. It was an excellent show.

I didn't see the Stones on this year's tour but the last time they came to NY I saw 2 of the 3 shows. Madison Square Garden, with The Pretenders opening. And the Roseland Ballroom, less than 3000 people, $50, with Jonny Lang opening. Two great shows.

Mick was bigger than life, as usual. He owned the stage




The stage was incredible

Ron was hot! He carries those old farts at times



Keith still has it with the guitar, but he still cant sing...



Well my first (and possibly last, they are long in the tooth) Rolling Stones show lived up to expectations. What a show!

I think far too much is made of the Stones' age. Hell, they haven't even reached retirement age yet. Look at Willie, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Van Morrison, McCartney, Bob Dylan etc. they're all still out there touring and making music and I hope they continue to do so for a long time to come.

True. But you really can't compare any of them to Mick Jagger, and his ability to remain an incredible frontman. He is not the kind of performer who will be content only sitting on a stool and singing along...

haha I just went out to lunch with my roomie, and they played Beast of Burden...and I remembered when I was little I used to sing it as Pizza burning instead of beast of burden...listen next time it really sounds like it. That was before my father had schooled me on the Rolling Stones.

I didn't. I'm just saying that just because a performer reaches a certain age, it doesn't mean they should retire or that they're past the point of being able to offer anything creatively.
