I don't keep up with Pro football, so please correct me if I'm wrong.ph4ever wrote:Don and I were talking about this Sunday. Wouldn't surprise us if someone picked him up for the rest of the season and used him to get to the super bowl and then dumped him.
He's suspended for a few games (2 or 4, i can't remember), and then he's "inactive" for the rest of the season. He can play for whoever he wants once he reaches the "inactive" part.land_shark3 wrote:I don't keep up with Pro football, so please correct me if I'm wrong.ph4ever wrote:Don and I were talking about this Sunday. Did the Eagles fully release him or just suspend him for the remainder of the season? If they just suspended him, then he is still under contract.
He can't play for anyone else. The "inactive" part just means the Eagles won't let him suit up for anymore games, like Tampa Bay did with Keyshawn Johnson 2 years ago, but he's still under contract to them.buffettbride wrote:He's suspended for a few games (2 or 4, i can't remember), and then he's "inactive" for the rest of the season. TO is icky.
That's about 15 mins from my house, Not to far from where Randall Cuningham used to live. Must be an Eagles thing
I thought I heard he could sign with someone else?LIPH wrote:buffettbride wrote:He's suspended for a few games (2 or 4, i can't remember), and then he's "inactive" for the rest of the season. I think what TO and his agent are trying to do is get him "released" outright so he can go and play with someone else. I like the Eagles approach...make him sit on the side and think about his stupidity and lose his incentives (too bad he still gets base salary)...although the "thinking" part may be way beyond him. I really wish the Eagles had won on Monday just to have some success without him; seems they just fell apart big time though.buffettbride wrote:I thought I heard he could sign with someone else?LIPH wrote:buffettbride wrote:He's suspended for a few games (2 or 4, i can't remember), and then he's "inactive" for the rest of the season. If he's not released he's entitled to go to the Eagles facilities EVERY DAY if he so wishes. Do the Eagles want that?Quiet and Shy wrote:I think what TO and his agent are trying to do is get him "released" outright so he can go and play with someone else. I think they'd put up with that possibility to insure he doesn't play for anyone else. Do you really think he would show up there? I don't. That would entail work.ph4ever wrote:If he's not released he's entitled to go to the Eagles facilities EVERY DAY if he so wishes. Do the Eagles want that?
Absolutely and without a doubt in my mind.I hate to sound cynical, but I think his agent might be behind all this nonsense. TO wants to renegotiate the 7 year contract he signed last year. He had a different agent last year, then fired him and hired Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus didn't negotiate the original contract so he's not getting any commission. Look at the chunk of cash he'd get if TO renegotiated and got more than the $49 million he signed for last year.
