Don and I were talking about this Sunday. Wouldn't surprise us if someone picked him up for the rest of the season and used him to get to the super bowl and then dumped him.

I don't keep up with Pro football, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Did the Eagles fully release him or just suspend him for the remainder of the season? If they just suspended him, then he is still under contract.

He's suspended for a few games (2 or 4, i can't remember), and then he's "inactive" for the rest of the season. He can play for whoever he wants once he reaches the "inactive" part.

TO is icky.

He can't play for anyone else. The "inactive" part just means the Eagles won't let him suit up for anymore games, like Tampa Bay did with Keyshawn Johnson 2 years ago, but he's still under contract to them.

I thought I heard he could sign with someone else?

Guess that tells ya I'm not the brightest crayon in the box.

As soon as the Eagles release him, probably at the end of the season, he'll be a free agent. I don't think they'll release him now, unless the union wins its grievance, because they don't want to take a chance he'll wind up with a team in their own division and help beat them.

However if the Eagles don't release him then TO is entitled to go to all the Eagles facilities. The question is, do the Eagles want that?

I think what TO and his agent are trying to do is get him "released" outright so he can go and play with someone else. I like the Eagles approach...make him sit on the side and think about his stupidity and lose his incentives (too bad he still gets base salary)...although the "thinking" part may be way beyond him. I really wish the Eagles had won on Monday just to have some success without him; seems they just fell apart big time though.

If he's not released he's entitled to go to the Eagles facilities EVERY DAY if he so wishes. Do the Eagles want that?

I think they'd put up with that possibility to insure he doesn't play for anyone else. Do you really think he would show up there? I don't. That would entail work.

The NFLPA has protested the Eagles attempt to keep him inactive after he serves his suspension. A meeting has been set with an arbitrator for November 18 who will rule whether or not under the collective bargaining agreement that the Eagle's have the right to declare him inactive.

If the arbitrator upholds the Eagle's decision then TO serves his suspension and sits out the season. If the arbitrator sides with TO then TO will serve his suspension and he will either be kept on the roster, with access to the Eagle's facilities, and paid his base salary. He still will not dress for the games or be allowed to formally practice per the Eagles. They can always change their minds and decide to play him. Unlikely but possible.

Most of the sports talk guys I have been listening to lately seem to think TO will win the arbitrators hearing and then be given his release by the Eagles following the suspension.

If that happens somebody will probably sign him pretty quick. I wouldn't but someone will. I'd like to see TO in the CFL next year just for sh*ts and giggles.

I hate to sound cynical, but I think his agent might be behind all this nonsense. TO wants to renegotiate the 7 year contract he signed last year. He had a different agent last year, then fired him and hired Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus didn't negotiate the original contract so he's not getting any commission. Look at the chunk of cash he'd get if TO renegotiated and got more than the $49 million he signed for last year.

Absolutely and without a doubt in my mind.

That moron signed a 7 year deal last season with the Eagles and then bitched and moaned about being under paid 12 months later? What an effen dickhead!!! I thought he was still playing under a contract that he signed in San Francisco. So, he actually finished out his deal with San Fran then? I thought they threw his ass out the door too. No...? :-?
