Welcome to the Jungle: The Very Best of Guns N' Roses"

Post by a1aara »

According to MusicTap, Geffen Records will release a two-CD "best of" collection from GUNS N' ROSES, entitled "Welcome to the Jungle: The Very Best of Guns N' Roses". This set will reportedly come in both "Parental Advisory" and edited forms and will be available to fans on December 20, just in time for gift-giving.

Late last month, a spokesperson for Geffen confirmed to Launch that a second GUNS N' ROSES greatest hits album was coming. MusicTap had previously reported a tentative release date of December 6, but other sources, including Universal Music Norway, suggested a March 2006 arrival for the disc. The label spokesperson did not have information on a release date or any other details about the set.

The first GUNS N' ROSES hits collection, released in March of 2004, has sold nearly 2.5 million copies in the U.S. GUNS N' ROSES vocalist Axl Rose, along with former guitarist Slash and ex-bassist Duff McKagan, tried to block the release of "Greatest Hits" with a lawsuit, claiming that the record label had assembled the CD without their input.

The band's label, Geffen Records, insisted that it was forced to put out a greatest hits album since Axl Rose had failed to deliver the long-delayed new GUNS album, "Chinese Democracy". That project has still not been scheduled for release.

My 15 y/o was playing MY Use you Illusions II this morning. Welcome to the Jungle seems to still be played on High School football fields quite often!

I was a G and R groupy back in the day. Axl was a doll and Slash has that rebellion thing down pat. He just doesn't give a s*&t.

I'll buy the new G and R and pre-listen before my kid gets his hands on it!

Or in the Auburn Tigers' "Jungle" - Jordan Hare

BTW, I bought the last "Greatest Hits". I can't imagine there are any other GNR songs that I can't live without.

Axl, a "doll"? Seems my memories of him are of a fella that was notorious for abusing women and had absolutely no respect for his fans. They were a musical breath of fresh air back then though, when the likes of Michael Jackson ruled the charts.

Thanks for YOUR opinion., Jah. I thought he was nice looking. Guess what, a lot of questionable people are nice looking. Tom Cruise is a doll too but his personality is terrible.

I could name tons of beautiful idiots. Axl was and probably still is a very pretty faced person. As far as his abusing woman, that was stupid on his part, if he did it. Vince Neil is beautiful as well...not as smart as some, but pretty anyhow.

Thanks for recognizing my opinion for being just that. I like several artists who's personalities I've never been quite fond of so I've been able to overlook that in favor of the music they make. Unfortunately I've been unable to do that in the case of Axl.

I always like the comparison between Axl Rose's style of dance to Davy Jones from The Monkey's.

I saw that on I love the 80's on VH1 last night! But he DOES dance like Davy Jones! Steven Tyler has that same, kinda girlie dance. :o

Is that what they teach in rock star school...(a Jim Morris moment)
