WOW!!!! A drum circle..these are the coolest things..they have them in Oklahoma never imagined they had them in Florida... and a good friend of mine never missed one...Gulfbreeze wrote:

This week: Friday night, had some port in the shop during a cigar tasting event, then went down and had some Guinnesses with the guys at the Shamrock Club afterward. 3 on an empty stomach, and I proved I was a bit of a lightweight. Saturday: 3 beers during the Cat-Griz game; Go Cats!! and a beer with dinner. Today: 2-3 beers during Trivia. Now, MOTM or Stars: seems like there is a bit more in the way of Morning Beers, maybe a drink or two in the afternoon and a beer or two with lunch and dinner, and then..
I think the days of my drinking all night from 5p to 2a, then getting up fresh at 7a for 8a Senate hearings are long gone.

Over the last year, mostly on the weekends:
Margaritas during the summer
Red wine the rest of the year
Quantities of the above two can be considerable.
A spot of cognac in front of the fire. mmmm that warms you up!
I just didn't like drinking while home alone w/ the kids (husband travels extensively) i.e. need to keep my wits about me.
However, now I'm happy to have a glass or two of red during the week if I fancy one since I have live-in child care and I'm not home alone.

Hardly ever ... glass of wine now and then.
I dont need it ...... and I have seen first hand the effects of drinking daily can have on a person.
It is also nice to be "yourself" around people - and not have the need to drink to do so .....

I sometimes have a drink with dinner, or while relaxing and watching tv at night. When I go out, drinking or eating are the main vehicles for socializing.

I have a beer with dinner most nights, and rarely drink hard liquor.
When out listening to music with friends, many beers are usually consumed.
Yesterday was an example of what happens; went to see Sunny Jim and others with Topless, Mr Topless, and Lacey from 1 to 5PM. Drank way too many Coronas, ended up doing Patron shots with one of the musicians, went from there to the Orlando Blues Festival in Downtown Orlando and drank many more Coronas til the festival was over at 11PM. Today is a diet Dr. Pepper day!

A few nights a week I wil have a cocktail of Appleton Rum and Diet or a Corona before dinner. Usually just one.
Tuesday is trivia league night.... have usually 2-3.
Weekends in the pool involve several cocktails.
Get togethers with friends involve several cocktails.
I never drink enough to pass out. I prefer the slightly buzzy feeling.
BN phlockings are not included in this laundry list of my drinking habits.....
I can count on one hand the number of times I drank alone. its 2. And both times were when Mr Top was out of town and I was in the Oar House Chatting! And even then... 1 or 2 Coronas.

Normally every few weeks or so, excluding phlockings and parties. I'm a lightweight.
No more than 2 glasses of wine at a time (maybe 3 if it's over a long period of time); beer to maintain; tequila if stressed but have to be careful, like the song goes "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off."

I usually drink on every other weekend, usually 2-5 drinks. At MOTM, I drank every day except Sunday. I had a bloody mary at the airport on Monday morning, and man was it good!
