I'm not suggesting a mass email campaign to Mailboat or anyone else. I just thought if the idea is deemed to have some merit, it might get into the hands of someone who can make it happen. Without anyone getting bombarded...
And it doesn't have to be out before Christmas to have an impact. There could be a website to take credit card payments for pre-orders, with a large portion going toward the rebuilding efforts (although it would raise more money with a fullblown distribution effort).

Great Idea Bill,
Even if they only made it available on-line, there could be a nice contribution made at the beginning of the year

Wonderful idea!
It was a great show...and "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" has such a different meaning now.
Jimmy should know we are all starving for DVD releases...it is the ONLY reason I bought the Fenway CD's! (Not that I don't appreciate the CD's)

Mailboat's website is already setup to take CC payments...should be easy enough to designate a portion of the proceeds to Singing For Change, which is already setup as the Non Profit. :::

::: Seems easy enough to me!

great idea, but parrotheads pressuring for it for the next 2 weeks is a 25:75 chance at best.
Reply from Snailboat:
So you guys want it for Christmas 3005? Okay I think we can do that.
Great idea Four Play!

Every Buffett fan wants the Coastal Confessions DVD, right?
Why not go ahead and release it before Christmas and give a large portion of the initial proceeds to the rebuilding efforts?
Although I really am not clamoring for this particular DVD, my question would be this: Why couldn't proceeds have been donated from the recently released DVD/CD? I get the NO connection to the above but since the most important thing would seem to be money as quick as possible....it could have easily been accomplished with the already in production album.
Thus one would suspect the original idea likely is not a strong possibility, even if there is an interest in it.

Four Play, that's a great idea, but until they're ready to put it out, I don't think we'll see it. And, as the need for Katrina (Rita, Wilma) help will continue on for a long time in the future, a "Coastal Confessions" release six months from now could still take that approach and help out in a meaningful way. Hopefully, they'll take that route and use it as a way to contribute.

Great idea!! Why not set up an escrow account with Mailboat to be funded with pre-orders. When production costs are met, put it on the market. Lord knows we don't want them to lose money for the sake of charity. Those are the type of shows that would sell more than the Fenway show. I've seen Jimmy 3 or 4 times at NOLA Margaritaville and the opening night at Orlando Margaritaville. I was also right up front for the Coastal Confessions show. The big shows are pretty much all the same. A few different songs from tour to tour. A different way to do WDWGDAS. The small shows are an enormous treat.
