Anyone ever hear him say anything about it???
I have never ever heard Jimmy mention anything about PTY...

I recall that it was going to be on the LP Second Wind, which ended up not happening for various reasons. I know I've heard it on RM and if I'm not mistaken he played at several shows back in the late 70's, early 80's. And I'm fairly sure that he played some of it during the Stumpo the Bando contest as well.
As to why he doesn't play it, why doesn't he play all the other songs that he recorded but didn't put on an album, like Train to Dixie, also off of Second Wind.

I have a test pressing of that album as well (courtesy of ebay). The Lost Manatee wrote:I recall that it was going to be on the LP Second Wind, which ended up not happening for various reasons. Other the "Train To Dixieland" and "Please Take Your Girlfriend Home" there is a different and more jazzy sounding version of "Kick it in Second Wind" and an early version of "Wonder Why We Ever Go Home".

No idea why Jimmy dropped it, but I'm glad he did. It always makes me squirm uncomfortably to hear it. It's creepy.
Maybe it's because the difference between this song and Livingston Saturday Night is that in Livingston he's talking about someone else. In Please Take... he's talking about himself, ostensibly. It's one thing to say "fifteen'll get you twenty" but quite another to say "I'm horny and my mind begins to roam."

Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after
Every now and then...

Looks like I'm the one to take this song on. If Jimmy won't do it, I will. I recently collected fan votes for an album of cover tunes. Based on the overwhelming response and the obvious high level of thought everyone put in to their votes, I think you’re really going to like it.
The new album will be called “As You Wish” and will be made up of the following tracks:
Dancin' in the Moonlight (King Harvest – 1972)
Tin Cup Chalice (Jimmy Buffett – 1976)
Smooth (Santana – 2000)
Hollow Man (The Boat Drunks – 2004)
Mexicali Blues (Bob Weir - 1974)
Lawyers, Guns & Money (Warren Zevon – 1978)
Cowboy Boots and Bathing Suits (Jerry Jeff Walker – 1998)
Santeria/Don’t Let Me Get Me (Sublime – 1996/Pink – 2001) (Yep, a medley. Wait ‘til you hear it. It’s awesome)
Please Take your Drunken 15 year old girlfriend home (Jimmy Buffett – 1975)
Apeman (The Kinks - 1970)
If you want to know when it's done (my goal is Phins to the West in Laughlin in May) drop me an email to rkarwin@yahoo.com and I'll keep you up to date.

I've never heard this song either. At least the song implies refraining because of her age saying she shouldn't be there. That's something I guess...
Anyone remember the song "Young Girl" It gets played on the RADIO all all the time.
"Young girl get out of my mind...my love for you is way out of line"
For some reason I can't remember who sang it..but I almost think he sang it on the Glenn Campbell show....

I've heard people talk about it plenty, I've just never heard it. Hubby hadn't even ever heard of it before.pbans wrote:The only time I've heard was when Bob Karwin did it at a PH gathering in Salt Lake!!buffettbride wrote:Here's a little secret for ya... I've never even heard the song.
