I second that and yes I'm one of the few voted yes to turnips!Gypsy In The Palace wrote:Being from the South, I absolutely love the Alabama song, "Christmas in Dixie." It is just not Christmas until I hear that song.
And all across the harbour
Night lights shinin' in
It looks just like stars on the water
"Always keep the places you love in your heart and you will never be too far away."

Christmas "Wrapping"
...anyone remember this great new wave holiday song by The Waitresses?
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't miss this one this year!

By the way...speaking of Christmas tunes...does anybody here ever listen to Cape Cod's Cool 102? They play Buffett all the time, including a Friday afternoon "Buffett Buffet" and Sunday "Buffett Brunch."
I had them on today at work and they played Ho Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rhum. I can't imagine there are many stations out there that play as much Buffett as this one does.

Ashes of laughter

Why do the best things always disappear?

Yes, I do and I love it but hearing it just a couple times a year is good for me.Lightning Bolt wrote:Christmas "Wrapping"

You are correct, sir!Jahfin wrote:Yes, I do and I love it but hearing it just a couple times a year is good for me.Lightning Bolt wrote:Christmas "Wrapping"
...anyone remember this great new wave holiday song by The Waitresses?I do like hearing some of their other songs though. If memory serves didn't they do the theme song for the short lived TV series back in the 80s called Square Pegs that brought us Sarah Jessica Parker and the now virtually forgotten Tracy Nelson (she did make a good female Seinfeld though)?

(pretty damn annoying little jingle)
I remember Square Pegs, too, mostly for Jami Gertz and the mini-crush I had for Tracy Nelson (hey, it was the crazy '80's).

"GrandMa Got Run Over By a Reindeer" has got to be one of the WORST earworms ever.
Yes on Manheim SteamRoller. Trans Siberian Orchestra is like them in at least some respects.
There are too many traditional songs for me to count to name just one.
I will admit sleigh bells always get my attention and always make me think of Christmas and riding through the snow on a cold bright night with a full moon, snuggled up under blankets with someone you love and care about, with the smell of the horses and pine and the scent of the snow and cold air.
Or even being out side alone and hearing them in the distance.....It it is own music with the clomp of the hooves if the horses get sweaty ....well then that is a different memorable experience.....
