My log cabin home was built about 15 years after the end of the civil war :o We found artifacts from the 1920's & 30's in the attic.

My wedding ring is an antique from around the turn of the century (the 1900's, not the 2000's).

And my husband is from the early '40's

First off the land that I live on.....is probably the oldest thing that I own....next to numerous and assorted shark teeth, eo hippus teeth, inner ear bones from early whales, assorted petrified wood, are among numerous other fossils, a necklace from a real Egyptian Mummy, are among the oldest things I own. I have assorted and numerous other items of various and more recent dates including a Pillar dollar recovered from a wreck from I think the 1600s maybe it was the 1700s, a pocket knife that belonged to one of our country's Founding Fathers (Benjamin Franklin to be precise), and some other assorted odd items of interest....
including a few assorted baseball cards that I have not had appraised.

The real Nazi flag from WWII, if it can be authenticatted will be worth some serious cash to whoever owns it, to a legitmate collector of such items and I don't mean to the people who believe in such ( of course they would pay big $$$ to own such an item as well)....I mean to serious collectors of WWII paraphenalia and such items, perhaps a military museum may be interested in a donation if nothing else, and I AM NOT talking hundreds of dollars ....I am saying it
COULD POSSIBLY BE valued in thousands of dollars or more.
I am not a collector of such items, nor would I know the value of such, especially site unseen, but the potential sounds as if it is there and if it is authentic. My suggestion is or would be, to get it appraised and keep it in a secure safe location. ( If you decide to sell it I want a finders fee... LOL I will settle for 10% How is that for a deal??? LOL)

Would be interesting to find out.

I have my Great Grandfathers pocket chronometer and his wedding band. He was the sailing master of the German ship 5 masted ship, Preussen. A grand and glorious ship in a dirty trade....Guanno.... Hamburg to Chile, round the cape with a load of Bat S--t! Good fertilizer..! Anyway the Chronometer is in the 1850's vintage with an outer case to keep moisture out.

The wedding band has a story as well...he lived on island of Fuer in the North Sea. As all good Freasians did...he retired there to farm potatoes. While tilling the soil one year he lost his wedding band. He looked for it but it had been tilled in and there was no hope of finding it......years latter, while eating potatoes from the field my GGrandma and he found it in one of the potatoes.....I now have it.

A picture of my mom and her brothers and sisters. It was taken when they were real young. Shortly after the picture was taken one of my aunts died. She was very young.

Lets just say that the pyramids seem really familiar and I feel a sense of pride when I see them. Oh, and the French Revolution was nothing like Les Mis. Trust me.

remember... you still have to talk with them.. and explaining the 1970s fashions were a joke by people with a vicious sense of humour rather than cool retro to your date is just an exercise in silliness. :D

I've got some pottery shards that come from a dig that was dated to about 700 BC. I think that is the oldest thing I own.
