News from the Central Oklahoma PHC regarding CIP opening Jan
Here's the newest information about the opening of the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Oklahoma City:
Greetings COPA! I met with Wade Bazar the managing partner and here's an update on the planned opening of OKC's Cheeseburer in Paradise on Memorial Road. First, let me outline the info for charity night:
Saturday, January 14th from 7 to 10 pm
Charity supported is Special Olympmics
Group sponsoring charity is OKC Police Department
Cost per Person is $50 and includes: Appetizer, Dinner, Dessert, 2 mixed drinks, & More
VIP Tables for 6 are available for $1,000 (usually purchased by corporations)
There will be cool auction items, too...such as a surf board signed by Jimmy Buffett
The Nace Brothers of KC will do the music...I'm told from several sources they are super and have opened for Jimmy in the past.
This will be the place to be on January 14th!!!!!
Details on how to purchase tickets coming real soon.
The regular opening will be on January 17th (Tuesday). Wade will set a place aside for COPA if I can give him an accurate account of how many to expect. He'll do it nice and we'll have a grand time. If you are sure you can be there, give me the count and I'll get it to Wade.
Wade said we could post a permanent sign near the entry way and have info on how people can join our association...and is willing to work with us on charity events, etc. Right now, he and his team are furiously working to meet the deadline and have everything built, tested and opened by the 14th...he's got a long ways to go in 2 weeks yet is certain he'll make it.
Here's a few things worth knowing about Cheeseburger in Paradise (CIP):
There are still about 38 states that do not have a CIP, including Texas.
It's a full service bar with many a premium rum...& yes, Anna, there have rum runners.
Lots of cold beer, including draft out of the tap at 31 to 32 degrees.
The bar will be a "flair bar" with lots of entertaining bartender stuff going on; a show itself.
Live music every night...with Karaoke on Thursdays.
A killer juke box loaded with everything Jimmy & more.
Monthly "Full Moon" events...these sound crazy & just too good.
The regular menu is limited by design...primarily cheeseburgers & cuban sandwiches.
The place is a tropical bar on an island and OKC is blessed to have it (my opinion).
So make your plans accordingly...& as soon as I get exact ticket info I'll get it to you. Enjoy what's left of 2005 and let's kick 2006 off in great parrothead style! Captain HotSalt
Hope you all can make it!
