Halfway to Phlocking - Port Clinton Ohio
The Phlocking of the Phaithful Committee Presents the
3rd Annual “Halfway to Phlocking”
January 27 and 28, 2006
(Yes, it’s after the divisional NFL playoffs and before the Super Bowl!)
at
The Commodore Perry Inn & Suites
255 W. Lakeshore Drive
Port Clinton, Ohio 43452
(adjacent to the Jet Express boarding area)
Entertainment includes:
KD Moore and Fingers Taylor(Friday early evening)
Don Middlebrook(Friday Evening)
Corned Beef and Curry (Saturday early evening)
The Junkanoo Brothers(Saturday Evening)
Fee!?! There is no stinking fee!! Just come to the Commodore Perry and have fun! Shake off those winter blues!!
There will be raffles for free Phlocking registrations and a variety of good “stuff” all parrot heads typically crave!! Proceeds will help fund the June, 2006 Phlocking.
The Commodore Perry is operated by Mr. Ed Fitzgerald owner of the Commodore Motel and Mr. Ed’s Bar on Put-in-Bay, our Phlocking headquarters! Ed has promised Corona & special mixed drink prices, and dinner specials. We can all attest that Mr. Ed’s food is worth the trip!
We’ve also made arrangements for a special trip to the Sandbox in Port Clinton. A shop with unique gifts and merchandise. Also, we’ll conduct the 2nd annual halfway Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Buy in will be around $40 and depends on the number of participants. We’re all gunning for Jim Clark, last years winner.
We know most of you may know KD Moore, Fingers Taylor, Don Middlebrook, and the Junkanoo Brothers (if you don’t you are going to be amazed at the great music these guys produce) but very few know of Corned Beef and Curry. They’re a group from Pittsburgh that feature a great “fiddle” player, a percussionist who does it all, and a lead singer who knows all the classics and then some. Be prepared for some great Irish music too!!
Further great news, KD Moore will use this event for a CD release party for his newest album. Be prepared to hear some new tunes from this great entertainer and a “Phlocking” best friend!
Hotel Reservations: A block of rooms are reserved at the Commodore Perry in the name of the “Phlocking.” Rates will be $44.95 for standard rooms and include a continental breakfast bar. There is an indoor pool, in-room internet access, and a fitness room. Please call either 419-732-2645 or 1-866-385-3101.
Don’t waste time – call today! We have no idea how quickly this party will get out of control or how soon the rooms will sell out! As of late October, over half the rooms are booked and we hadn’t yet begun to remind everyone!
Directions: For those who have been to Put-In-Bay, the hotel sits immediately adjacent to the Jet Express boarding area in Port Clinton. As you near Port Clinton, coming from any direction, follow the signs to the Jet Express.
Special Note: The “Polar Bear Swim” is only a rumor, repeat, only a rumor!!!!

I spoke to KD last night from the Columbus, Ohio PHC Christmas party. He said that for us coldweather averse types, there is no need to leave the hotel all weekend; everything will be in the Commodore Perry Hotel.
He and Fingers are looking forward to the Phlocking.
Having already seen them in Michigan, New Orleans and Key West this year, I will probably try to make it up - even though I HATE cold weather.

But, if you do want to leave, I can show you around since these are my stomping grounds! Plus, I happen to know where there is a full boat in a house that has been made into a FREE stocked bar about 5-10 minutes away from the hotel! Have you ever ice fished?//z-man wrote:I spoke to KD last night from the Columbus, Ohio PHC Christmas party. We have a summer place up on Lake Huron (East Tawas) that we have visited over Christmas, so yes I have been ice fishing and have done the polar bear thing off the ice.shakerofsalt wrote:But, if you do want to leave, I can show you around since these are my stomping grounds!
