Phin Power needed please!
I got this email from one of the attorneys I work with today:
To all:
One of my dearest and closest friends has had the worst possible news as a parent. While in Chicago after Thanksgiving to spend a few last days with her husband before his 18 month duty in Iraq, her son, Daimon (2 years old) was rushed to Lutheran Children’s hospital. He contracted a form of E coli which developed into HUS. The HUS has already caused kidney failure and may continue to attach his organs and central nervous system. He has already had one operation and is on dialysis. His prognosis is unknown. Last Saturday he was so bad that the doctors asked her to say her goodbyes. He’s hanging in there. Yesterday, she had to rush her 11 month old son (Dawson) to the hospital as well. He also contracted HUS. He had a long surgery last night and his prognosis as well is unknown.
Kristi and her husband (until the Navy has him report to duty) are staying in Chicago until the boys can hopefully be brought home or are well enough to be transferred to Riley. The doctors estimate up to 3 months. She took a leave of absence from her job and is not getting paid. Dain’s pay is unsure since he only has a limited amount of leave time. I will be driving up to meet them in the next few days to bring them clothing from home and money to help with their costs up there and to help with their bills here at home. Any donation is greatly appreciated, but by no means is expected. Please let me know if you would like to help. Most of all your prayers are needed and greatly appreciated.
Michelle
Michelle says that these folks are huge Buffett fans. They just need some encouragement. I think it would be cool if we could add 1 card to our Christmas card list this year and send these folks some phin power! If you could help out, they would appreciate it so much. These are really nice people (they have to be...they're Buffett fans! ). Here's the address that the cards can be sent to:
Lutheran General Children’s Hospital
c/o Daimon and Dawson Anderson
1775 W. Dempster St.
Park Ridge, IL 60068
For those of us going to the CIP event this weekend, I believe this is the hospital that it benefits. Please don't feel obligated to donate money. If we could just send them some cards and encouragement, I think it would mean alot to them.
Thanks everyone!
