I was at show, it was fantastic. Of course Alpine is the best place on earth to see a show, and since Jimmy didnt play there last year, we all know he is retiring :pirate:

Ah!!! Alpine and the show you are talking about would have been the infamous Clint Black appearence cowboy hat and barefoot. I was at every show there from "97" on. By the way does anyone know when the Buffett show will be at Alpine this year? we only have 3 weeks left before the New Year! HEHE! Hopefully he will return, if not allot of fond and drunken memories I think :pirate:

The comment was sarcastic due to the nonsensical babblings and arguments between a few people that were pro and con alpine last year. The best venue for Jimmy argument is stupid and very subjective to each person. In my opinion, the best venue would be in a small beach bar on a small island with just the man and his guitar. But I have been to alpine every year (sans 2005) and I personally enjoyed it.
Sorry the sarcasm was misinterpreted :D

Um, unless something was deleted along the way, I got the impression that your sarcasm was interpreted exactly correctly!  :D

Gimme a minute here, though.... if we're gonna start the annual Great Woods/Alpine battle, I'm going to need a cold beer and some popcorn..... :P :D

I'm sorry man, I was answering sarcasm with sarcasm, just givin you a hard time. I COMPLETELY agree with the fact that the best place would be on a beach. Second place going to Great Woods. AHAHAHA

Him actually playing on the beach, as in Jones Beach! :D

C'mon, someone had to play the Nader part.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I've always wanted to see him at Jones Beach. Heard that place is the best. OK I'll tell you what, this is what I hear, Alpine is the better concert, but Great Woods has the better tailgate!

2000, That was my first at Alpine Valley. I usally went to Poplar Creek, and to tweeter. Alpine is one of the BEST to see Jimy. Not to mention tailgating. I have a Daughter in Col, but hell or highwater I will see Jimmy at AV next year. For as long as Jimmy is there, I'll be there also.

I am not sure if this applies to you or not, but point number one is that for any person to ever state Place X is the best venue, they need to have been somewhere else, preferably many to have somewhere to compare it to.

Secondly, although each have their little quirks, in the end its the show that matters and the idea that a show is better or worse becausde of where its at is in most cases pretty absurd.

My all time favorite concert and one of Jimmy's most famous was at Buckeye Lake...and that would fall in the middle of places I have seen him at.

Just my opinion.

I guess thet most of us have better drive or fly and see as many as we can. I've never been to a bad Buffett show. I have had some bad times with security at some places.
