FYI: Locals don't say it that way (I lived there for a bit). They say it more like "Newarlins" with the "r" said softly in the back of your throat. If you say "N'Awlins" the locals will know you are a tourist. "New Orleens" is equally frowned upon, but "New Orlee-ans" (4 syllables) is acceptable for television and radio personalities.rsgeist wrote:New Orleans (or N'awlins as the locals say)
