I know, but it was originally built back in 1923 I believe, thus making it the 3rd oldest ballpark still active behind Wrigley and Fenway. Most of the remodeling in the 70's (and correct me if I'm wrong) trasnformed it into a baseball-only stadium (remeber the NY Football Giants used to play there). The black seats were created (so hitters could see the ball) and Death Valley was shrunk to its current dimesions of 314-->399-->408.MacPhin wrote:jb10, i f i am correct, i hate to burst your bubble. yankee stadium is not a golden oldie. it was remodeled about 25 - 30 years ago.
Fenway and Wrigley are not the original structures they were when they were originally built. They have gone under renovations, albiet not as extensive, but they aren't the original structures.
I would rather have it at Jones Beach anyway, but it would definitely be cool to see Sir Paul, Bubba, and Dave Matthews.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
