I haven't heard about the Capote movie, I might consider seeing it...I remember him on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
Is "In Cold Blood" worth reading? I would highly reccomend it, but then again it depends on your reading taste.
The reason I asked if it was worth reading is all I can remember of Capote IS seeing him on the Tonight Show. I wasn't sure whether the book was really good, or just controversial for it's time.

As for Brokeback Mountain, I'd probably see it, but I know Mr MM56 wouldn't. (maybe if it were about 2 women)
In Cold Blood is one of my favorite books. I had to read it for a journalism class. I loved it!

Philip Seymour Hoffman does an amazing job in this movie and I highly recommend it. I also now need to go back and reread In Cold Blood.
I remember seeing Capote on the Tonight Show, also, but never read In Cold Blood. (and I read a lot) I know it's a well known book, but is worth reading?

I'd like to see the movie Capote, but not too sure about the other one...
There's not much publicity about it out here in the middle of nowhere.
One time when Capote was on the Tonight Show, Johnny Carson asked him about another famous writer (I can't remember who it was). Apparently Capote didn't think much of him because he told Carson "That's not writing. That's just typing."

And remember him saying to Dick Cavett (or maybe Johnny ~ I forget) that Jacquelyn Susann looked like a "truck driver in drag"? I nearly fell off my chair laughing!

My husband uses some of Capote's lyrically wonderful short stories in his English classes. THE GRASS HARP and THE CHRISTMAS MEMORY (I think that's the title of the last one) are his favorites.

Wasn't there a big feud that developed between Capote and Tennessee Williams? No, let me correct myself-it was with Gore Vidal.
