Touch of gray...

Post by iuparrothead »

I have a patch of gray hairs on the top of my head... just started sprouting in the last year... not a lot, but noticeable to me... I'm not ready for this. :-?

Are you completely gray now?

Do you cover your grays?

Do you pluck them?

How old were you when it all went downhill and you realized you looked really, really old?

I really don't remember. The ones on my head fell out before they could turn gray. I noticed them on my chest first then face. I think late 20's but not sure. PLUCK EM.. HELL NO.. color them, huh?

I don't have any gray hair and I'm older than you but younger than Larry.

My hair is blonde, and that's the way it's gonna stay.

oh this is fun!!!

1. yes

2. OH HELL YES

3. NO - always heard they would multiply

4. I was ok with coloring my hair - got my first greys around 18. About 6 or 7 years ago a friend told me she saw my son and asked about me. It was also during that time I decided to stop coloring my hair and just let it be grey. My son told my friend that I was getting really really old. She asked him what was wrong with me and he replied - "She has grey hair". As soon as I heard that I went back to coloring my hair.

You'd think the Greatful Dead would be in my head, but no! I got this!

The old gray mare,
well she ain't what she used to be!
Ain't what she used to be!
Ain't what she used to be!

Mine is minimal compared to white-haired siblings... I highlight, but not to cover the gray, but because blondes have more fun! :D

Started in my 20's. temple area pretty white. Rest is a mix.

Face and chest, snow white.

I am Popeye, I yam what I yam. Mrs had me try some stuff once and I felt more self conscious than if I had left it alone. So I guess its "no play for Mr Gray"

Why would I? It makes me look distinguished; it makes you look ... old.

No

My hair started turning gray when I was 17. I've been distinguished for a very long time.

There's someone older than Larry on this board???

Hell, my blonde hair gets regular maintainance from the stylist... there is no way anyone will ever see me gray.

I pluck them, btw...

started going a little gray in my early 40s
it is now salt and pepper; but as long as it doesn't start to fall out, I'm fine with it.

I'm not completely gray yet, probably another 5 to 10 years and when it happens, it happens. I'm not plucking or hiding it or coloring my hair. And I've done far better then my father who was white by 35 and I'm already 45 and still have some brown hair left.

Are you completely gray now?
Nope

Do you cover your grays?
Over the past year or two, I have been known to put a bit of color back in. Blame my wife ... she told me to bleach it blonde 'cause she wanted me to be "dead sexy". (Actually I'm not entirely sure about the sexy part.)

Do you pluck them?
That would be a lot of pluckin'!

How old were you when it all went downhill and you realized you looked really, really old?
Now that's just not gonna happen .... "Fifty four and still kickin' ass!"

Started in my mid-twenties. All the women on my dad's side have a "skunk streak" or "Josie and the Pussycat streak" in their hair. We all have it in the same spot and it started around age 25.

Don't cover it up - I love it!! :D
