collectors don't pay much for your full sized gijoes if you shaved off their real hair, blew legs off with firecrackers, painted fake blood on them with red nail polish,, etc.
nah. I didn't abuse my toys. I take good care of them. My friend used to light them on fire and send them down the driveway on a skateboard. Funny, but the skateboard got ruined too. Stupid.

well it'll be funny when they find out that they would be worth some money. They had some hard to get full sized Joe's.
There's a bag of them somewhere that are all in one piece with no paint on them, with their clothes and masks. The one son will definitely blame his brother for trashing all the joes along with anything else.
My son only sort of learned to take care of his stuff when he got into skateboarding and surfing and was buying all his own stuff. Even then he'd go thru a deck every so many months and a new surf board a summer.

My husband wants to cry every time he thinks of all the Joe's and Transformers he destroyed when he was a kid. We could have nearly retired by now.

believe me, this is an improvement. He doesn't do ramps too much on the skateboard anymore so they last. Running coach got on him about getting hurt. And he surfs alot so a board a season isn't so bad. His explanation is he buys thinner performance boards and they break really easy. LOL Now if the prices have jumped over that clark foam thing, well that'll be another story. But, I don't care since I don't pay anymore.
Sy, my brother and his friends had this huge pit. They had all the classic GI Joes and sets like the Mummy. They blew everything up. They also broke bones playing Evel Kneivel there. Every once in awhile I show him what those things are getting on ebay just to bug him.

I remember when we went to our first collector's show in Jersey probably about 10 or so years ago when the 80's toys were really starting to become collectible. We really had no idea what they were becoming worth. He saw what some of the original Joe's and TF's were worth and he was floored. He and his brother then spent over an hour regaling me of tales of Joe's dying horrible deaths by bbq grill, microwave, falls from roofs, and so on. While they were funny as anything, it was depressing just the same
My mother still reminds me of how I destroyed her childhood collection of Breyer horses when I was little (grandpa gave them to me

). They are worth a small fortune now, too.
But damn it was fun to make horsey 'fly' across the basement floor

I was ready to say NINJA. But after reading the TALE OF THE TAPE, or everyones postings, I'm switching to PIRATES. Looks like they have the Testicular Fortitude to overcome anything, Rum, hands getting chopped off, etc.
Future Battles I'd like to see:
Saved by The Bell vs. The OC Battle Royal
Arnold vs. Stephen Segal
Daffy vs. Donald

Oh crap, I can't believe I just wasted my 1000th post on that. The other 999 were all so intelligent and insightful.
