The same real estate person who sold Jimmy his home was selling the home. EDIT. I read the article wrong.

There was just a quote from the person who sold Jimmy his home.

As for the condition of those walls, Cash said the home, which is being sold "as is," is in need of some maintenance work but otherwise remains in "very good condition." Tommy Cash, a real estate agent with Crye-Leike Realtors, is acting as the property's exclusive listing agent.

The house has 18 rooms, including seven bedrooms, five full baths, an outdoor swimming pool and bell garden.

Tommy Cash said any potential buyer wanting to see the 4.6-acre property would need to provide a "letter of qualification." Otherwise, Sullivan said no restrictions were being placed on the sale, although she added that family members hoped any buyer would respect the home's history and place in country music lore.

One possible incentive for any preservationist-minded buyer: seven pieces of antique furniture owned by the Cashes are staying with the home as part of the sale, including the bed the couple slept in.

"Certainly, there is a hope someone who has love for John and June or is somehow connected to the music business would want to try to preserve the property as it is now," Sullivan said.

Steve Fridrich, owner of Fridrich & Clark Realty, said while he wouldn't be surprised to see someone with ties to the music industry buy the home, the property's prime lakefront location would make it attractive to a variety of individuals wealthy enough to afford the almost $3 million asking price.

"A lot of houses have soul, and this house has some soul to it," said Fridrich, who has helped celebrities — including Jimmy Buffett, Barbara Mandrell and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill — buy and sell their homes. "But even if it wasn't Johnny Cash's house, it'd still be a special house to have on the market."

If that was in my budget, I'd seriously think about it.

I have fished on the lake behind his home a few times. His home is not blocked by trees or fenced in. I could toss my line in his guitar shapped pool if I wanted to.

That's one of the great things about living in quiet places if you're a celebrity. Nobody cares; nobody bothers you; you can live your life. I have a friend who's a multi-platinum recording artist, and he lives in Franklin, TN. To his neighbors, he's just that, a neighbor. Big difference from L.A. where people are seeking out your home to try to score an autograph or a picture.

Johnny Cash's house was sold.

To Barry Gibb (and wife). That's right, Barry Gibb of the Bee-Gees. He said it was for the artistic and historical aspect of the house.
