The tickets are a legacy of a company I used to work for - the company bought them (then at the Spectrum) when the Flyers came into the league (1967 or thereabouts). The company closed up shop in the late '80s but a group of us hung on to the tickets. So now I go to about 10 games a year.
I think I have a couple Saturday afternoon games later in the season .... maybe if you're a good prawn we can negotiate a deal. (Although your date may be me and you'll definitely have to buy a few overpriced beers!)

Flippin' SWEET!!!! Over-priced beer at the Wachovia Center?! and here I thought that that was just a rumor and didn't exist. My uncle used to (past tense being the key here) work concessions at teh Vet, Spectrum, adn Wachovia Center - I never paid for anything. Uncle Anthony has now retired. Mings is behaving. Trying at least.
How'd you manage to retain the tix after the company closed? I thought that such an action automatically defaulted on the tix.
Had the tickets been in the name of the company, that's probably what would have happened. But, they were in the name of one of the employees (the president) so we were able to retain them. At some point, he transferred ownership to another member of the group but I'm not sure what the logistics of the maneuver were.

I'm sure it is. It really is all about who you know, and I suppose the president of the company isn't a bad person to know.

don't listen to these guys. I love picking out the perfect present. I've been really successful this year and feel great about it.
