The news just keeps replaying the video over and over. Enough is enough. People with family aboard have to watch that knowing their loved one is in there. After the Challenger accident, there was a rule that the video should not be aired anymore unless it was to analyze causes. They should do that here, but they play it over and over and over. Then they play it in slow motion.

It's like after 9/11. They just kept playing it over and over again for weeks, maybe even months. Those poor family members who have to relive it every time they play it. It's a shame that tragedy turns into a media event.

However wrong it is, people want to see it. I'm sure the media would rather have millions watching their station instead of catering to the feelings of families who have to watch their loved ones parish. It's the American people as a majority....like those damn gawkers who stop up traffic lookign at accidents.

It's a sad day in our society when we care more about the news than the people.

Heartbreaking! Prayers and thoughts to the families of passengers and crew.
Here is something I think of from time to time when the going gets rough and life gets too scary:
Launch out into the deep and see
What your harvesting will be:
Let down the net: better to find
A monster there, than stay behind
Combing a leeward shore, content to ken
Wreckage of ventures lost by braver men.
- Freda C. Bond
Perhaps this would be absolutely no comfort at all to most folks, but I think it says something about why we all get out of bed in the morning and tackle head-on that risky thing called life.

In what was one of my more-lucid moments, I called Brendan's office hoping the line would not be busy. The gentleman answering the phone stated that he wasn't in yet, but would be later this afternoon. He was in the office yesterday afternoon with the Grumman went down, and did not find out about it until the story broke on the news.
Repeating the top story of the hour: It appears Conch Man/Chalksoperations is OK!!!
