Chalks

Post by SeaNile »

What a tragedy today. Ironic that I am reading Jimmy's A Pirate Looks at Fifty where Jimmy mentions Chalks so many time.

A sad day.

One of my many favorite parts of APLA50 is Jimmy's magical description of his love for flying boats and his very first seaplane trip, which was on Chalks.

Several years back when on St. Thomas, one thing I really loved from my time on shore was watching those flying boats takeoff and land (...I was there with Mom and she thought I was nuts). And I finally got my ride last year while visiting Key West when I did the Dry Tortugas trip via seaplane. What a fun trip and what a great way to travel.

And yesterday, the magic was sadly stolen from one of those flying boats.....

That thought has crossed my mind...I've always loved flying; being a pilot would be fun! :D

I know! My heart skipped a little when I heard the company name. Very sad and tragic, I pray for the families involved.

Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way
