In January???? OMG! I actually lived in Beckley W.Va. for six months back in the year 2000... Hubby was editor of the daily newspaper, then got transferred to South Ga. in Dec. 2000. We went from not seeing the lawn for the entire month of December, to having to maintain an outdoor swimming pool. Leaving before winter hit in full force was wonderful!

But... Beckley was really not all that bad. The best part is it's only 30 minutes from a WONDERFUL ski resort, WinterPlace... I had 18 relatives visit us that Christmas just for that reason. They knew we were moving it was their only chance to have a place to crash. We are probably going back next month to ski.

ALSO, the people in Beckley are VERY friendly... Almost as friendly as people here. My son's teacher has kept in touch with us all these years, and his soccer coaches were fantastic. We had wonderful bonfire parties, etc. We lived in a nice subdivision right behind Woodrow Wilson High School and the hospital. PM me if you need any more info on schools, neighborhoods, etc. for your candidate.
